"OUR BIG, FAT DISNEY VACATION!" Ch.26 NEW! 2/11 pg. 121 "And they lived happily ever&

Heh. I left my Mickey Hat on buzz lightyear space ranger spin last month. I had to hang out with the two CMs at the exit for about 10 minutes to get it. They had to run, jump on the right car and grab it before they got pushed around to the ride entrance.
I'm just glad they did it for me. I would've fallen and been stuck between the ride and the car somewhere in the universe. :)
I wonder how many points you'd get to shoot me?

last year Tom lost his personal cell phone on Dinosaur! It took him an half an hour or retracing his steps to find it, but luckily he did!

I’m from California. I grew up in Brea. North of Anaheim home of Disneyland. I’ve been or am very familiar with all the scenes and smells depicted on this ride. Makes me teary and very homesick. But!!! then I remember how much it costs to live there these days and remember my highly dysfunctional family resides there, and I decide it’s better to ride Soarin’ than to live there again. Trust me. Ohhhh, trust me, there.

Oh, I can so vouch for this statement!!!! I am also from "The OC" (grew up in Cypress - West of Anaheim - childhood home of Tiger Woods) and the rest of MY dysfunctional family still lives there!!! Every once in a while I get teary eyed and long for my beaches and mountains and so on. Then I too remember how expensive it is AND that my nut-job sister (and I mean that in the NICEST, most LOVING way possible!!!) still lives there, and I'll take the Florida hurricanes anyday!!!!! Although... I would LOVE it if the annual 10 minutes of cold weather arrives sometime VERY soon!!!

:rolleyes1 Let's see...where to start? Great trippie!!! I just found it a few days ago, so I have had lots of catching up to do, but I am up to date now! I soooooooooo dig it! :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :thumbsup2

The photo of Cindy and Norah is priceless! :goodvibes

I too read the photography boards here. Great pics your hubby took of POR! We stayed there last February and loved it.

I do have a confession to make. I am a Diet Coke lover. I know, blasphemy, right? :scared1:

You have inspired me to consider a TR for our upcoming trip in November. (We will be there in 5 weeks!!!) I haven't decided for sure yet. We'll see.

And I can't wait to see more here! Keep up the great work! I am really enjoying hearing about your family's experiences. You are a funny lady. In other words, entertain me some more please! popcorn:: :bitelip:

OH, almost forgot - LOVE your sig! :teeth:

Utah and I are hommies, did ya know that? :smooth:

So my frickin (nof) dysfunctional family is following me... but the plan is to wait until they all move out of California, and then to go back. :rotfl:

Did you ever realize you were out past curfew because you heard the fireworks start? That is one of the clearest memories of my childhood. If we heard them we had to run home because we were already late. We lived up on one of the hills and could see the high fireworks sometimes.

Soarin' makes is homesick too. Disneyworld, and the MK more than the other parks, makes me homesick for Disneyland. I miss New Orleans Square. I miss the bakery being on the correct side of the street too.

As for your Redneck family, we so have you beat. Just wait. We have photos and everything. The Grandfloridian Tea meets the Clampets, part ?? of the Silly trip report. (Shemeless plug) :smokin:

Totally unrelated to your TR (which I love, by the way :thumbsup2 ), but as a new first-time mother, I currently have an obsession with strollers. What kind is your adorable DD in, and do you like it?

First, I have to tell you that I've been loving following your WDW vacation adventure--all 80-so-far pages of it!! I almost died laughing, however, at your description of dinner with the fam at Le Cellier! This was an almost exact duplicate fo ANY dinner we had with my husband, myself, and my 3 step-kids when they were younger. (Luckily, now that they are 23, 20, and 17, most meals are relatively bread stick finger puppet free.) I have to admit, however, as angst-producing as some of those meals were, those are the ones that are remembered with great fondness and giggles now that they no longer happen. Someday it will be, "Do you remember the first time we ate at Le Cellier and Dallen put his breadsticks on his fingers and pretended they were puppets?" "I NEVER did that!!" ""Oh yes you did!!" Sometimes its hard to find the humor in the situation now, but it makes great ammunition later!

Can I jump on this homeland band wagon?! I grew up in Cypress, and we were able to tell curfew (in the summer anyway) by when the streetlights came on, and if we were still out when the fireworks started (we could see them from the balcony off my parents bedroom before the trees grew up, but could hear them anywhere), we KNEW we were in trouble! Ah, memories... :sad1: <sniff> I miss being a kid...

I am finally all caught up with your TR :cool1:

You know I just can't be sick (stupid gall bladder who needs it any way). There's always so much to catch up on .... which is great BTW :)

I get back after a week of no power here in Buffalo and there is only ONE update?!? :rolleyes2

I had soooo much catching up to do with everyone else's posts! Seems we like posting more than you do UM!

Please post more! I can't wait for you to "air your dirty laundry"!!! :laundy:

(And yes...I am here for the duration! Thanks for the great TR!!!) :thumbsup2

Okay, and I think I am quoting here (kind of), "What you can't mean me, I only take 2 - 3 days to add an installment, not 2 - 3 weeks like DisUnc." (I am either quoting you or TM - pretty sure it was you though). Today is the 18th and you last posted on the 13th - that is like 5 days. :confused3 So can we expect a chapter today. By the by, what day of this trip are we on. I think it is day 3.

Okay, I am quoting me, quoting you again! I believe your last installment was October 18, 2006. Today is October 23. I think that is 5 days again. :confused3 We miss you! You and Disunc are my to favorite reads right now but we need to work it out so that at least one of you is posting every couple of days! Then it wouldn't seem like such a lllooooonnnggg wait in between installments! Okay, I will check back tonight. ;)

I got lost...

I admit it... I was lol, and enjoying the 80+ pages, but forgot to add to my fav so I could come in where I left off...

I guess as punishment, I must reread all the pages... its that good!!!

The shakes and sweats are starting.......withdrawl creeping in........need more report........ .....please hurry

Ok :rotfl2: maybe it's not that bad

YEEEAAAAHHHHH! A new installment! And a great one at that. I've taken that boat to the Boardwalk and didn't think it could possibly get any hotter. I was on the verge of abandoning ship and swimming for it, but I thought it would be unfair to DH, what with 3 little bites, the stroller, 2 back packs....

And the "pissy" CM? I met his sister at POTC. :furious:
I dont really remember the boat trip. It was HOT though. I think I inhaled a lovebug, though. I forgot to mention that. That's typical when I'm about to get "sick". I Kinda like pissy CM's.I mean really. They entertain me enormously!

What a fun installment.

Your le Cellier experience is adding to my pre-trip panic. (Check out my avatar, I usually am panicked). The other day I took my girls to a small town cafe where napkins and manners are optional. They were awful. What kind of mother am I? Is it too late to teach them manners? I have four girls. Aren't girls supposed to be well behaved? :confused3

I hope Disney is ready for us. We'll be there in a month, destroying the restaurants, talking too loud and wiping our mouths on our sleeves.

Redheaded mama
To my Paniced Utah friend:
Just relax and breathe about Le Silly. It IS Disney for one and you can take some incriminating photos to display to your future grandbabies. It's all good. To do it over (I did request a do-over) I would take many many pictures. PLUS, I would have smuggled in a diet pepsi and owned my lot in life. I do continue to attempt to teach basic manners...BUT wont go nutso over it any more. (I do go freakin nuts about the napkin thing though! :furious: )

Aaaahhh....yes! Great installment! UMama - I'm glad you found the camera. Sorry to hear it was broken later in the trip but, if you're anything like me, those pictures were worth more than 3 times the camera. I get sick at the thought of losing pictures of my kiddos - That's my biggest fear if our house would ever catch on fire.

I'm thinking you are only SLIGHTLY pink regarding redneckness. We'll call you medium-rare!

I tried to do the whole really nice Le Cellier thing in January. I tried to pretend we were uppity but gave in about halfway through the meal. My assumption is that it's Disney - and if it's a place we're allowed to wear jeans and t-shirts into, I'm not stressing! So, I guess my redneckity goes a little deepers than yours - we'll call mine a medium-well. How do I know?....This is my then DD2 in Le Cellier - I should have made her stop, but instead laughed and took a pic!

I love the pic of you and Norah! It's like Disney personified even though you were sick. She's all happy and bubbly in her stroller with a balloon and chilling and the mom is sacked out. It's great isn't it???

Keep up the good work!
Hey Redneck!
You've taught me a good lesson...dont get mad, get your CAMERA!
I dont remember that scene very much. Just wanted the 30 minutes to pass!
I love your pic of your strawberry girl! And your haircut and glasses are TOO CUTE!!!

Thank you SO much for reading! I always look forward to your replys! :goodvibes
