This was my family's fourth trip to WDW and second stay at the Swan. It was such a great trip thanks to the all the info I got from reading these boards!
Since we were arriving late we bid on Priceline for our first night stay. The rest of the trip was at our all time favorite hotel-The Swan!
Oct 13 At around 10 pm we checked into the Downtown Disney Hilton which I got on Priceline for $70+taxes and fees. I was happy to get the Hilton because of the early entry. The rooms were clean with nice decor. I liked this hotel much better than my last Disney Priceline hotel Wyndham Palace.
Oct 14 I woke my two sleeping beauties DD3 and DD7 very early to meet their grandparents in the lobby. We wanted to get to MK for early entry. We arrive to find a comfortable even low crowd at MK. My FIL has been to WDW 20 times and thinks the crowd is extremely low. We pretty much followed the girls lead and let them ride their favorites and get a few autographs for their books. Our lunch at the Plaza restaurant without a PS was quick and everyone enjoyed their meal. We left after lunch to go to the Swan and check in. At check in I met a DISer when I recognized her child from her picture posted on the boards. Check in went smooth. We were staying for free using SPG points so I didn't expect too much. We did not get a balcony but we did have a nice view of the Dolphin and the water. Based on info I read on these boards I had made a PS for the FDP at Brown Derby. After check in we rode the boat to MGM and caught the parade. Our PS was for 4:20(the latest available when I booked). I checked in at the BD and asked if we could come any later. They let us move it to 5:00. The food was very good but our server was just okay. We left from the restaurant to go watch Fantasmic for the first time. I was a little nervous about the noise and fright factor but the girls seemed to enjoy it as much as the rest of the family. Afetr Fantasmic we caught the boat back to the Swan and heard the Illuminations fireworks just as everyone got settled in. I'll try to post a report for the other days soon.
