As soon as the alarm wakes me I run over to look out the window to see if it is raining. The night before the local weather forecast calls for morning showers as a cold front moves in. We have plans to meet my in-laws(also staying at the Swan) in the lobby around 8:00 to head over to AK for early entry. If it were raining I would not have wanted to wake up the girls. When I look out the window I am relieved to see no rain. This is our 4th trip to Disney. We have been once in March and this makes the third October trip. We have always had perfect weather! We end up meeting later than planned and don't get to AK until 8:50. So much for early entry, unless you count the long lines of people waiting to get in at 9:00. We head straight for the Safari. After the Safari we get a light breakfast and decide to ride the train to Rafikis Planet Watch. I notice the sky getting very dark in the distance. As we get off the train(under the cover) it begins to pour. My DD7 gets very worried and impatient. I try to assure her that the rain should pass soon and we would be fine. The rain soon turns to a drizzle then a mist. I am just thinking how lucky we were to have gotten off the train and under the cover at the perfect time. Even without ponchos everyone stayed dry. We stayed at Rafikis for a little while then headed over to ride Triceratops in Dinoland. We then made our way over to the Rainforest Cafe. We had a PS for 12:45 and the place was packed. It took awhile to get seated and even longer to get our meal. The kids like RFC but it is almost too chaotic for me. After lunch we headed back to the hotel and relaxed for awhile before riding the bus to MK for a few of our favorites including Spectro and Wishes. The park seems so crowded compared to Thursday morning. We looked around in the shops on Main Street before the parade and everyone seemed to have the same idea. I think they sold more sweatshirts and jackets than usual as the temps had dropped as the sun went down. After the parade we grabbed a late dinner from the Plaza Pavilion and found a neat spot to watch Wishes. After a perfect but long day for 2 little girls we go back to our favorite hotel. Thank goodness we weren't planning on early entry for the next day.
