We decided on two simple excursions and I'd like to hear opinions (good AND bad) from anyone who's done these...

In Nassau we decided to do the Historical Harbor Cruise and Paradise Island Tour.

In Freeport we decided to do the Glass Bottom Boat.

Whatcha guys think of the tours?

If it were me,,,, having been to the bahamas several times I think I would skip the fromal tours........... the bahamas do not have a whole lot to offer other than gorgeous water and beaches (althought the straw market is kinda cool the first time)
I think you may be dissapointed with the historical tour.. not that I have done it myself..I am just going with my experience traveling there,, the glass bottom boat on the other hand could be very cool. The waters in the bahamas have a huge abundance of fish/rays/sharks etc, which are a delight to see! I would first recommend snorkling to see it upclose otherwise a glass bottom boat or sub ride would be very entertaining!

My hubby wants to snorkle... I, on the other hand, do not... :o I almost drown when I was younger, so I get very freaked out with my head under the water like that...

While we did not go on the glass bottom boat ride, our table mates did. They did not like it. Their complaint was that the glass area on the boat was very small. They said people were always trying to get a spot so that they could see. They took their 6 year old with them. They also said some of the time, the water was murky and they couldn't see anything. They said they would not do it again and that they were disappointed.

Don't shoot the messenger -

I went on a glass bottom boat once in Nassau and it really sucked....it was a bunch of bench seats around the perimeter of the boat and in the center was a square and when they took the metal cover off it there was a small glass area down below where you could look down into a few people at a time...it was very disappointing. In Freeport we did the Lucayan Beach day with my 2 1/2 year old and we loved it. In Nassau I wouldn't even bother leaving the ship unless going over to Atlantis.
