Love this photo - so stinkin' cute!

I've had two different ADRs in the past at Kona for breakfast so that I can try the Tonga Toast, but I've cancelled both of them at the last minute. I'm afraid it would be too heavy and sweet for me. I didn't realize that you could get it at Captain Cooks though, I'm guessing it's cheaper there?

I didn't realize that Tonga Toast was available at Captain Cook's either!

Hmmm...you may have just changed my plans for my October trip.
We always visit the Polynesian, regardless of where we're staying, because we stayed there when I was a kid and have a sentimental attachment to it - I guess this time, we'll just have to visit during breakfast :)

Wow what a fun and busy day you had! :)

Isn't it funny the things you have to see and do after hearing about them on the Dis? We have an adr in Aug at Kona so we can try Tonga Toast too

Can't wait to hear about the first haircut popcorn::

Once we found out that we could get Tonga Toast at Capt Cooks, we were happy campers. We usually got to Kona for dinner. We love their bread and macadamia nut butter! :thumbsup2

The first haircut post should be coming up either tomorrow or Thursday. Darn that thing called work! :thumbsup2:rotfl:

Aw...what a good mood she was in that night! :cutie: We just might have to check out those kidcot stations!

Yessss...you got Tonga Toast! I could do without so much of that sugar on top though. Looks like DD was enjoying it!

She is always happy when she is at a playground! One word of caution about the kidcot stations at the world showcase - they are sponsored by Sharpie. I had to keep a close eye on what she did with those markers!;)

I know, I was so happy that we could finally say we tried Tonga Toast!

That tonga toast does look delicious! :)

It was really good, but I don't know if we will get it every trip. There is just so much food out there to try!

Yeah, we usually do Kona for dinner, so we didn't want to have to go there twice in a trip, especially since we weren't staying at the Poly. We may decide differently if we stayed there though. ;) I don't know if it's cheaper there, but it's definitely faster eating there. I am glad we got to finally try it, and glad that I shared with someone else!

It was great because we parked the car at the Ticket and Transportation center and hopped the monorail to the Poly. Then if was fun to just leave for MK from the Poly. So we had a great parking spot for later in the day. I love the Poly. I feel like we are there at least 2-3 times a trip! I always tell DH that we need to stay there one day.

Just found your trip report and loving it so far! Your little girl is adorable! My DS's first trip was around that same age and it's the fondest memories I have of all the trips we have made since. Can't wait to read more:yay:

Great evening at Epcot! We stopped at all the Kidcot Stops back in Jan 09, but Madison was only collecting the passport stamps in her "Guide to the Magic" book. The CM's at each location also each wrote something in their native language. It was really neat!

I've always wanted to try tonga toast! We were going to eat at Kona last June, but I was able to snag a ressie for Chef Mickey's that morning instead. Hmm....I'll have to look at my plans a bit to see if we can sneak in a trip to Captain Cook's!

I didn't know you could get Tonga Toast at Captain Cooks - wow! That and a Dole Whip and this chicka is HAPPY!
Can't wait for the hair cut photos!:yay:

Great update! I love the pic of your DD asleep on the walk back to the room!

I keep forgetting you can get the Tonga Toast at Captain Cook's. I want to try it and now I won't have to use a TS credit for it! :thumbsup2

Your munchkin looks especially cute and tiny when she's receiving her Kidcot mask!

I like how your DD doesn't mind wearing sunglasses!

I'm in popcorn::

Great TR! You have a beautiful family and I can't get enough of your little one :goodvibes

We stayed in one of the 50's buildings last month...definitely our favorite section of the POP!

Eww...Sharpies! :scared1: Those might not be such a good idea.

Hi and :welcome: I have had some fabulous memories of this trip and our August trip. What's even better is that she seems to remember all her favorite moments too!

Great evening at Epcot! We stopped at all the Kidcot Stops back in Jan 09, but Madison was only collecting the passport stamps in her "Guide to the Magic" book. The CM's at each location also each wrote something in their native language. It was really neat!

I can't wait to take her back when she is older to get a passport to collect the stamps! They were writing her name in their languages one of the days we did this.

Definitely look into Capt Cooks as a breakfast option one day if you can't do Kona. I find that we end up at the Poly all the time. We really should just stay there! :rotfl:

Yes you can! Both Tonga TOast and a Dole Whip! My hubby was in heaven when he saw there was a Dole Whip machine at Capt Cook's. Hope to have an update tomorrow on the haircut.

I did remember thinking when I took the sleeping pic - "If I do a TR, this will be a great pic to end a day with!" Funny how the DIS just creeps in all the time in your daily life!

Now you can save your TS for another restaurant! :thumbsup2

She loves her sunglasses. She seriously has more pairs than me and DH combined!

I'm in popcorn::

:wave2: and thanks for joining in! The Pop is a fun place to stay at.

Eww...Sharpies! :scared1: Those might not be such a good idea.

Yes....just a little heads up there. But they do have some fun coloring sheets when you stop by some of the Kidcot stations too. I think she got a Handy Manny one. Otherwise, just keep a real close eye on him with those sharpies!

Tonga Toast!!! I sooo want to try some and totally forgot AGAIN this last trip!! And we stayed at the Poly and I still forgot!! It looks sooo yummy!! I love Lily's outfit in these pics from Epcot--sooo cute! And yes, I cannot believe that the Kidcot stations are sponsored by Sharpie?! Did you see my rant about that on FB?! Crazy I tell you!! :goodvibes

Sounds like fun in World Showcase!

That was smart sending DH ahead to get the food, especially with that kind of a wait.

I love the posing for pictures, your DD is so very cute! And I had no idea that they set up playgrounds for flower and garden festival...we'll have to check that out next year!

Sounds like your DD is a good eater. DS is not, AND he says he doesn't like rice. We just tell him that everyone likes rice, the majority of people in the world eat rice every day. Probably 3 times a day. So not liking rice isn't a n option. ;)

Yay for Tonga Toast! I was very excited to hear that they have it counterservice now. Especially because we're on the QSDP this fall!

With all of your trips to Disney, I'm sure you'll manage to fit Tonga Toast in at some point! There's just so much you learn about on the DIS that you want to try, and then when you finally are in Disney, you forget. Happened to me so much. I did see you rant on FB. It was funny because I had thought the same thing when I was there. I don't get it.:confused3

Oh my gosh, you should have seen us trying to find dinner that night. We had planned on the Yakitori House but the line was so long, we decided to walk around and find something else. But it was so packed everywhere that we decided to just go back to Japan because we liked the food there and that's when I sent him ahead.

DD is usually a pretty good eater, for a toddler, I think. She loves her food but she does have her moments. Although, I am pretty sure she would eat mac and cheese all the time if we let her.

Yes, try Tonga Toast! I'll have to pop over to your PTR! I had no idea that they set up playgrounds either. But then again, I notice so much more now that I have a kid.;)

After our delicious breakfast at the Poly, we were off to the MK for another magical day!

It is so nice to hop on the monorail and just be at the park. I am definitely going to keep pushing for a stay at the Poly or Contemporary on a future trip.

ry%3D400

We took one last PP pic and then we were on our way.
ry%3D400

We only had one thing on our agenda for this morning – to stop by the Harmony Barbershop to get our little princess’ first haircut! Okay, I’ll admit that I attempted to trim her hair, once, months ago at home. But that didn’t turn out so well and it was more to see if we could even out her hair from her baby bald spots. So this was her first real haircut. We have never taken her anywhere before. We wanted to get it done last August when we were here, but were never able to fit it in.

We got in line and luckily the wait wasn’t too long. There were only a few kids and one adult before us. That worked out well since she had time to assess the situation and see that there were other kids younger than her getting haircuts. Plus she made a little friend while we were in line and the two of them were pointing out the mickey confetti from the floor to all of us.

Finally, it was her time. The moment of truth. Was she going to make it? Was she going to freak out? We put her in the barber chair…..
ry%3D400

and she sees that her little friend is getting seated right next to her. However, he’s had haircuts before, so he’s a pro.

ry%3D400

You can tell that she’s still pretty apprehensive about what’s about to happen.
ry%3D400

Look at her little face. She’s trying so hard to be brave and not freak out.
ry%3D400

Our barber, Michael, was great. He kept talking to her and to us, trying to distract her. She was doing pretty well, so I think he just kept going. It looks like they had other methods of distraction if the kids get really freaked out. They have stickers and light up toys and spinning toys at the ready.

ry%3D400

What’s great about the experience was that you could see him take the first cut and place it in some tissue paper to wrap up in a cute little package for us. That way, we can keep her hair from her first haircut if we wanted to. Then when they are all finished cutting the hair, this is what the kids get!

ry%3D400

She got her own pair of mickey ears that said “First haircut” on the back!

ry%3D400

Look at her proud she is. She did it! She was such a good girl through the whole experience so I was pretty proud of her myself. Of course, she gets to see the finished product too!

ry%3D400

She also gets a cute certificate of bravery for making it through the first haircut! Plus the receipt for the cut also has “first haircut” written on it. So Disney definitely does a lot of make the first experience a memorable and special one. I definitely give it two thumbs up! Our little princess also got some mickey stickers for her good behavior.

ry%3D400

I was so happy that we were able to get her first haircut at Disney World! By this point, I think it was almost 11am and it was getting pretty hot outside. Our little girl opted to save her hat and put her hair back in pigtails. Guess what the end of our haircut coincided with? Yup, the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Parade. It was the tail end of the parade, so she only got to wave at the characters as they were passing by.

ry%3D400

On our walk through the MK, we came across this character.
ry%3D400

Capt’n Jack Sparrow didn’t seem to hold our little girl’s attention for two long, so unfortunately, we didn’t get to watch the whole demonstration. It looked like a cute little show though, especially if you are into the movies. He was doing demonstrations with two little boys on stage.

I think we were on a mission to find the railroad stop. She really wanted to take a ride along the big train. However, we got a little sidetracked when she had another character spotting. I’m telling you, she has the best eyes out of the three of us!

Here we are waiting in line for her turn…..
ry%3D400

to meet……
ry%3D400

Woody and Jesse! They are so cute!
ry%3D400

She was so excited to see them that she almost forgot about her book.
ry%3D400

I had to help her hand out the pen to Jesse as she was too busy giving out hugs.
ry%3D400

I really have to say again, how great these character interactions are. They really do just make her day!
ry%3D400

I love that they got down to her level too! More hugs.
ry%3D400

I really think that she would have been perfectly content to just stay there all day with Woody and Jesse.
ry%3D400

Time for the big photo with the two of them!
ry%3D400

And then she was all done. Look at her happy she is walking away from that experience.
ry%3D400

I think this trip has made our little girl into a new Jesse fan.

Up next: Ohana and DTD

How fun that she got her very first haircut in WDW, and that you got such great keepsakes from it as well :goodvibes

Captain Jack holds my attention just a bit better than he does your DDs...... :rolleyes1

How terrific her first hair cut at Magic Kingdom! Great items for keepsakes :thumbsup2 I hope we bump into Woody & Jesse..awesome pics!

BTW, I forgot earlier in your TR, I find it so ironic that you and your DD wore an outfit very similiar to the outfit my little one wore to DHS a couple of years ago..must be a MASS thing :lmao:..this was her making faces at the Hollywood Vine & Dine breakfast

We kept running into Woody or Jesse or both at the parks. They are so cute together though.

Also, love that outfit of your DD! I forgot to look, are you from MA, too?
