Our 17 year old cat has been missing -He is home! Update page 2

I had a cat once, ET (because when she was born, she looked like an extraterresterial, sp). Anyways, she got really sick, so my parents decided to take her to the vet. We looked for her and couldn't find her. Couldn't find her for days. The neighbor that lived behind us came to our house and said he thought our cat was in his yard. She was dead.

It turned out she had luekememia (sp). Which was caused by the fertilizer, pesticides, etc that another set of neighbors used. :(

Now, whenever any of our cats end up missing... I get worried that they are dead. :(

Oh,I am sorry about what happened to ET. :grouphug: for you. :grouphug: and for ET. That is just too sad :sad1:

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone whose kind words of encouragement, prayers, pixie dust and good wishes gave me hope when I was so afraid.

I have good news! Tabby is back home.

My 22 year old returned from a party about Midnight and saw Tabby hiding under the car in the driveway.
We brought him in but he seemed weak and he refused to eat or drink.
We took him to the 24 hour vet and they did some
blood work. He was a little dehydrated but otherwise he is doing well. The vet injected some fluids under the skin and sent him home.
He ate a small amount of food and drank a little water.
Thanks so much. I truly think all the good thoughts that were sent our way helped Tabby return home safely.
Our guess is that perhaps he took shelter in a neighbors garage and got accidentally shut in.
Tabby is getting lots of TLC. We love that little furball.

Thanks again.

My old house cat Dusty got out one day, it started to rain so I got worried and went out so fast I forgot to put shoes on ran round like a headless chicken stepping on stinging nettles then hobbled back in, by this time the rain had stopped and he walked in through the door with that "you callled" look that makes you want to strangle the little monster!!!!!!!!!

That is great news!!! Has he told you yet where he's been all this time? ;) :goodvibes

I am so happy for you . This was a great way to start my morning. I know how much I love my cats and I am so happy for your happy ending. I bet Tabby is going to be one spoiled boy today.

That is great news. I am so happy for you. I just read your thread because I couldn't bear to read it when he was missing. I know older cats go away to die sometimes. We have lots of cats do just that on my in laws farm. Sometimes you find them after they have passed sometimes not. It is hard.

He is a great looking cat. I just love kitties. Love him up and chastize him when he feels better for making you worry.

Tabby, please come home. Your family loves you & misses you very much.

I'll be thinking of you & your family. I hate being worried when they disappear. My 3 yr old Puppy did that way back when I was in college. Yes, his name was Puppy. ;)

I've had furbabies since I was born. They are soooooo important in my live. We are down to just one right now. Splash (our cat) will be 18 in October. She's a spoiled brat - but we LOVE her so much. She's been so good about the IV fluids DH has to give her every other day for kidney disease. (2nd cat with this & this treatment) But I could do without her waking me by SCREAMING at me at 3am or 4:30am to be petted or hugged. Splash disappeared once for 5 days (normally an inside cat back then). I was a basketcase, but she finally turned up in the driveway. I had left food & water out for her each day. We searched & searched & did flyers too.

:grouphug: for you and Puppy.
I am happy Splash returned home safely.
I am so sorry about her kidney disease. DH sounds like a very guy to give her the IV's. Splash sounds very special.
I understand about the 3am or 4:30 am wake up call because tabby will wake me up that early quite often also.

I think it is a part of our cats getting older.

Thanks for your good thoughts.
We are so happy Tabby has returned to us!

Glad to see Tabby came home!!!

DW Lauri's only cat disappeared once when he was around 15. That bugger showed up SIX MONTHS later, sitting on the front porch, meowing for his daily can of Nine Lives sliced beef like there was nothing wrong. My eyeballs almost fell out of my head when I saw him just sitting there after all that time with this look on his face like "hey.. whassup?"

:cheer2: (And Splash was also found under the car in the driveway at night after 5 days of missing.)
