Ouch!!!! Man Falls of Tram

This IS Disney's fault --- there is NO sign that says "No jumping off the tram when it is in motion; especially head first"

That man is completely justified in a lawsuit and should be awarded either Stitch's Great Escape or Sounds Dangerous.

Don't they even tell you in their little speech that if you drop something, to wait until the next stop and notify the driver?!?!

Last month each time we went (3x) they repeated several times do not attempt to get off to retrieve something. Let them know and they will be happy to swing back to get it.

Not a smart decision, but glad he is okay.

They definitely say it all the time, but Guest routinely ignore all sorts of things CMs tell them. I was there last week and my entire family commented that tram safety was poor. Based on what I witness just last week, I am so not surprised this happened.

I saw so many little children sitting on the ends, people crossing in the middle of cars, people trying to stand on the sideboards after rows were filled, and worst of all a man who deboarded with his toddler AFTER the "sit back and we are all clear" message. CMs generally seemed to be a poorer job of checking compliance with safety rules than normal, although they certainly did make the announcements.

Wow, if you are saying that common sense needs to be enforced more strictly tha it already is, then the trams would never move. Unfortuantly, the man was just not too bright. This was def. in NO ways Disney's fault for not "enforcing" the rules. I guess it takes all kinds

MY husband would jump off a tram for our precious stroller. :rolleyes1 We only have three, you know.

On the local news, they reported he dropped a camera. Either way, not a good idea to jump off a moving tram.

We saw this today when we were walking into MK...he was lying on the ground face down by the back of the tram..The ambulance was pulling up as we were walking by....found out later he jumped off the tram.. :confused3

:rotfl2: I was thinking the same thing... she was probably yelling at him to jump off and get it "RIGHT NOW"... and he wanted to end the misery and tried to go head first... :rolleyes1
Yeah, but my DH never listens to me anyways! :lmao: Yes, I thought the CMs did give a spiel about "if you drop anything...."

Great! Just what we needed, next thing you know they'll install doors on the trams controlled by the CM in the back, make us wear seatbelts, helmets and sign a release form. He better not try and sue "well, there were no doors and I wasn't restrained!"

I for one think that this is a great example of Darwin's theory.

you can watch the storie live on wesh 2000 orlando news they have video of it

. . . The man, at Disney with his wife, daughter and grandchildren, leaped off the parking lot tram after a family stroller fell off in the Magic Kingdom parking lot, said Walt Disney World spokesman Jacob DiPietre . . .

1) Kind, sorta, why they want strollers folded and stored.
2) I guess he learned the hard way.
3) Dumb.
4) Really Dumb.

Haha. This made me think of a story I read on stupidguesttricks here it is:

Some folks become parents without realizing it's a full-time job, especially with toddlers.

One such was riding the WDW Railroad, and apparently considered himself off-duty, as he was allowing his 3-year-old to stand -- nay, to dance on the seat as the train was in motion. As the train traversed Tomorrowland, the tot lost his footing, slipped between the bars on the left side, and fell off the train.

His father decided at that point to clock back in, and followed the child -- head first off the side of the moving train.

The Good News: The child was unhurt. Like many that age, he bounced, and as soon as we handed him back to Mom he was fine.

The Bad News: The adult didn't fare so well. He gut cut up on the ballast and a sprinkler head and was bleeding badly enough we had to call in an alpha unit for him.

The Best News: Reedy Creek alpha crews carry spray idodine in their kits for patients who seem likely to repeat their accident.

"So, do you jump off trains often sir?" [ssssst] "Yeow!"

"Good thing you landed on your head, no vital organs in there." [ssssst] "Yeow!"

"You're lucky you decided to jump. There's no way the crew would stop a train just to pick up a baby." [ssssst] "Yeow!"

Gotta love 'em, even if they do make it hard to keep a straight face.
