:( :( :( Two weeks to go and I've broke my toe:( :( Ooh - I'm a poet and I didn't know it:p

Yep, cracked me toe getting ready for a party on Saturday night (note - before party, not after;) ). Golly gosh, but it did make my eyes water.

I'm trying to be good and rest it, but you know what it's like with the last couple of weeks before a trip trying to get everything done.

The one thing I really hate is not being able to drive just yet.

Ah well, time for an ice pack:eek:

Annie :)

I hope your toe gets better soon :) Rest up and how about watching the Disney Planning Video ;)

Ouch, Dp broke his big toe, it looked painful, plenty rest etc,was on the agenda.!!!!

Poor you, it will soon be on the mend!! :) just think you have a lovely holiday to look forward to,and get you better :)

Beth

Ooooh poor you. That brings back painful memories of the time I broke my big toe by drop kicking my (then) 15month old DS into the bathroom.

I was carrying him rather gingerly up the stairs to change his leaky nappy - he was facing forwards and I was trying to hold him a little away from my clean white jeans and tee shirt. I tripped over the top step and he landed on my foot which propelled him neatly through the bathroom door to land on the floor.

He is 17 now and none the worse for this experience but I still have twinges from time to time in my big toe.

Hope you suffer no ill effects on your trip

oooh! Ooouch!

Hope things get better soon.

Oh Annie - you poor lady :( ........ it's VERY painful. I broke a big toe many years ago and that appalling timing too.

Marlouwrig..... you had me VERY worried there for a sec when I read the first part of your post

Hope it gets better as fast as it possibly can Annie.

Oh my goodness Annie - you poor thing {{{{hugs}}}} fancy doing that before your holiday {{{{more hugs}}}}

Now let me know if you need anything and I'll come on down and drive you around if need be.

Rest up lots if you can ::big kiss::

Annie

Ouch:o :o You really must have given it a good old wallop.

I have broken my toe a couple of times now (walking into the bedstead) and that bloomin' well hurts. Trouble is all you can do is 'buddy-strap' it (strap it securely to the the next toe for support).

Strangely enough when I was swimming today I thwacked my middle toe good and proper and it has turned a very deep shade of blue - wouldn't surprise me if I have cracked the bone again

Happly hobbling!!!

Fiona

Oh Annie, flower, you poor thing you. :(

Rest, rest and more rest, get Darryl to do all the running around for you and yell if you need me to do anything.

Loads of love, Astrid, Bryn & Carys x

Ouch! Annie that's terrible. Toes are rather sensitive little buggers.

A couple of years ago, I had my foot e-rayed for something or another. Anway, after reading them the doctor asks me if I'd realized I'd broken my pinkie toe at least two times in the past? I'm always banging the dumb thing on furniture, it's a blinking wonder it's still there.

Ouch!! I broke my toe about 3 years ago. Banged against DS door. Hobbled about for a week or two in agony, until one night I hit off a box(walked into it in the dark) cried like a baby I did..lol.
Funny thing was, when I woke up next morning it was fine..no pain at all.

Wouldn't advise you try this....bit drastic.

Hope it's better for your hols

Galaxy

:D

Annie, Annie, Annie ......

OUCH OUCH OUCH

You poor dear. It's hard to believe something that little can cause such a big pain, isn't it?

Take care of yourself :)

Aloha,
Lorraine ;)

Ouch!!!! I feel your pain, I broke my little toe once and it was very, very painful. {{{HUGS}}}, hope your back to normal real soon.

I can sympathize with you -- I just had surgery for an ingrown toe nail - it's throbbing to beat the band right now. Doc said it would take 4 to 6 weeks to heal -- should be fine for our December trip. Rest up and use that ice! Hope you have a wonderful trip.

Annie ~

Poor you. Hope you feel better very soon {{{{Hugs}}}}

Thank you so much everyone - it's amazing how many liitle tootsies out there have been broken by just going about everyday little tasks. I broke my little toe last year (getting used to it now:rolleyes: ) simply by aiming a kick at a balloon - missed the balloon but got the corner of a wall, yow. Put up with it for a few days but in the end had to get medical help. Again this time, there's not much they can do other than strap it to another toe:D

Thanks Sam and Astrid for the offers - much appreciated, my friends:smooth:

I hate having to ask anyone for anything (I am what you would call too independent:o ) and today I've had to scrounge a lift for DD Katie's Harvest Festival at school. It's her last one in junior school and she's narrating so she was very upset when I said I couldn't get there, but my friend who couldn't go due to a computer course had already organised a lift for me, bless:)

Fiona and Off2disney - hope your toes get better soon too :)

It's times like these you find out who your real friends are - and I thank you all for your support (mentally, not physically, cos you wouldn't want to get near my feet, I can tell you:p ).

Bless you all
Annie xx

Annie,

I sympathise totally, being a veteran of 5 broken toes.

Yes, that was 5, and all on separate occasions - I am that accident prone sadly. ;p

Those are just part of my total of broken bones and dislocations believe it or not. Score me at 10 broken bones and 2 dislocations so far !

I have the fairly unique distinction of having the aftermath of my first broken big toe being memorialised on a film. I was doing some summer-before-college building work, and was laying some paving stones on the South Bank in front of the National Theatre. It was a boiling hot day and I'd taken off my boots to put on trainers. Well, just a few yards away a TV film crew were interviewing Ron Moody who was playing Fagin again in a production of Oliver at the NT. He's in full Fagin get up, and dancing about to 'Got To Pick A Pocket Or Two...'

Like a fool, I'm eyeballing this out of the corner of my eye and not noticing the 2ft by 4ft paving stone thats slipped and is heading rapidly for my foot .

Somewhere there is a rather unique piece of film of Ron Moody singing, that goes "Yooooouuu've got to pick a pocket or two boy, yoooooouuu've got to... AAARRGGHH MY F***ING FOOT !!... "

On another occasion, I went to casualty at my local Hospital. The weekend prior I'd had a fall while playing footie with my nephews - I'd try to do a fancy round my left leg kick with my right foot, but rather than looking like George best, I came off more like George Formby...Wallop, flat on my face like a sack of poo, managing to fall heavily on my left hand, bruising the thing very nicely, and my chest too.

Anyway, by the following Thursday, I was getting pain every time I breathed in - not right I thought sagely. ;)

As I couldn't sleep anyway, I got myself down to casualty - doc sends me off to x-ray. I wander back expecting the doc to tell me it's just a very bad bruise - I wished !

He comes back and says "Well Mr Joseph, you've got one nice clean broken rib, another badly fractured, oh and a pneumothorax.."

"What's one of those then ?" I ask. "Oh, thats a punctured lung. "

Cue my bum flapping big time.... Obviously seeing the fright in my face, he then says " Oh Dont worry, it's not too bad, if it was any worse you and I would already be on our way to the operating theatre... " How reassuring !

Anyway, the damage was high on my chest so nothing could be done expect for pain killers and a sling to support my shoulder. Enter a nurse who proceeds to look at my folder, which is about the size of the King James Bible. She does her best to make me feel better by deftly manipulating me into the sling, while soothing my concern by saying...

"Clumsy big bugger aint ya ??" People are just soooo sympathetic ! ;)

Thing is she was right, I thought this was just what happens to people, but havng asked other people, it seems it aint !!

Dont worry though Annie, the toes usually only take 2 weeks or so to heal, so it shouldn't be a problem for you when you get to Disneyville

Have a great time. :)

Ouch! Broken toes really hurt. I hope you are 100% recovered before your trip.

Katholyn

Ouch! I've luckily never broken any of my toes before but it sounds painful!

At least you can put you feet up before your holiday :)

Hope it's fully recovered soon....

Richard
