With the information provided yes you can.

However what you can’t do is get the bogo offer for both OTUP purchases.

ETA: I didn’t see you wrote “discounted” 24 OTUP. As mentioned you can only get the bogo offer once per calendar year.

Is it possible to create a waitlist with less points than the reservation calls in your UY (no points left for borrowing) and then ask Ms to purchase otu points if the waitlist fulfills or do I have to purchase these points ahead of time and hope the reservation fills?

Yes you have to purchase the points ahead of time. The points needs to be ready to use if/when the waitlist matches.

If you have a 7 month reservation you can swap the OTUP into that reservation and free up your own points.

You can only get one set of BOGO free OTU points being bought under your 2025 MMB program.

Some have said that has happened to them. I have not had that and was able to modify my stay in June with the OTU points.

So what I did:

Contact order was locked with my OTU points in there. I chose those contract anyways (4th and 5th contracts on booking). I rebooked it, then went back in to the rebooking screen and by the time I got on the phone with member services the system correct itself.

So I think something happens on the backend but it just takes a little time.

Weird but worked and it freed up points so I could bank them to next year.

I have this issue too however MS assured me that when I make a modification the ‘system’ will automatically draw borrowed/banked points first … still haven’t made the mod yet to confirm it

It does take those first but if your reservation requires more points it will take the rest of the points needed in the order you first picked. If it gets the lock on it you can’t change the order of the contracts to be used. i.e. you booked a treehouse at SSR using the contracts in order of VB, VGF and BRV. Your family later decides they want a cottage at VB to be booked at 11 months. You can’t modify the treehouse reservation to move the VB contract as the last one to save as many VB points as possible because of this lock.

You can call to have this reorganized as I did it a couple months ago with my summer reservation as we chose to save our BWV points for next summer instead of RIV points.

Its good though that they thought of grabbing the borrowed/banked/OTU points first though regardless of order.

It seemed to work like that even though it did seem like it didn't.

Remember if you have transferred points they take preference. They use those before regular points but after banked and borrowed. If the transferred are already banked they are used first, regardless of order.

You can use them at any resort. Remember they can only be used at 7 months out and will expire at the end of the use year.

I would be buying them on my VDH contract so I was wanting them to be valid at VDH which is restricted in case I end up changing the reservation I would be originally be using them for.

VDH is only restricted by non grandfather restricted owners. VDH Resale can only stay there and other resales can't stay at VDH.
OTUP are points from Disney and are not restricted so it is not an issue.
A non grandfathered resale only owner could buy OTUP and use them to stay a property that they normally wouldn't be able to visit (RIV, VDH CFW) (RIV, VDH, CFW owners could use for the O14 Resorts) if they were able to find something 1. Wait so someone who owns only resale could call MS and book a deluxe studio at Riviera during low season with OTUP?
