Been following camping post for a little while now. How often are otters seen around FW. I live in western MD, they brought some up here from the eastern shore about 10 years ago but I have never seen one. My SIL and BIL live in the northern neck of VA, and when I am there I go on the dock and look for them but no luck. I would love to see one. Thanks for any info. L&G's Dad.

We are here on the 800 loop, when walking the dogs this week I have been watching them playing in the canals by the pet walk.

Thanks, when we are there in August I will have to bring the family over to FW and hopfully we will see some otters.

There are no otters in FW. It is a myth. They are nutria and are a nuisance, but delicious and make a fine brown gravy.

How on earth did I miss this thread??

Yes - there are otters at FtW and a lot of the lakes on WDW property. The otters that live in Bay Lake were giving the fishing excursions so much trouble that they set traps to try and catch the little critters. Last I knew they were not too successful with that. I told them to use cut up fish as bait. Otters prefer beer to dead fish - so that's why they were not successful!

Deb is right, there are otters at the Fort,,,in fact Deb has a very good friend who is a otter,, She came with Deb one night when we met at PO one night.
Course, come to think of it,, it was the only time I've seen a otter close to the Fort.
