Otterpop's DISign thread - Autograph Cards and Epcot Passports

Hi Otterpop,
I love your passports but I have a really silly question. What do you do with them? I know I've read about them being stamped but I didn't know if that is geared toward kids or adults as well. My husband and I will be visiting and I'd hate to prepare these fabulous passports and not be able to use them. We will be at Disney during Food and Wine and I know Disney gives guests free passports but I think that just has the foods on it. Please help me understand the whole passport situation if you would be so kind. Again I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing your beautiful designs and I thank you so much. Stay cool in this summer heat. A few years back, I bought these for my kids and they had lot's of fun going around and getting them stamped from the different countries. I then stumbled upon here and found out that a few DISigners made their own. I thought what a great idea as the "official" Disney passport couldn't compare to what was made here. After using one of the DISign passports, I then decided I would try to make my own...and the rest is history!

I have them printed up as hardcover books by artscow.com. The quality, the personalization, just everything about the DISigner passports is soooo much better than what Disney sells...

In addition to my versions, there are other DISigners who do passports as well...do a search and you will find them...

Everything for the latest passport (version 4) is done and now on my photobucket page!

Just a brief background as to why I DISigned the pages as I did. I wanted to give the passport more substance.

I tried to make it a little more fun by adding the network logos and hidden mickeys. As much as my kids like going around to the different countries and getting the passport signed and stamped, I don't think they have as much fun as compared to all the rides and attractions that Disney has to offer. I hope these ideas will make it that much more fun for this aspect of Epcot.

The other idea is what I think the World Showcase is all about, and that is to teach us about different countries and cultures. When our children (and us) visit the different countries, hopefully now they will know a little bit more about that country and be able to "communicate" a little bit in the appropriate language. For younger kids, this educational aspect might not make a lot of sense to them, but that is where you come in to help them understand some of the concepts and ideas that I have included. I think this is why I DISign the Epcot passports and like Epcot so much; there's more to DisneyWorld than Mickey Mouse, rides, parades, fireworks, and mickey bars (although they are all great!).

I just wanted to say how awesome you are! My DD and I are going on a girls' vacation - just the two of us. I was thinking she is getting a little old for some of this stuff, but your passports are awesome! I love how it has facts about each country and words in the different languages. I also love that there's a spot for a personalized message, not just a stamp. This is perfect for her! We never spend too much time in World Showcase because her brother isn't in to it (has Aspergers and we have to plan alot around what works for him). She will really enjoy this!

I didn't find this in enough time to order through Arts' Cow, and Shutterfly was more than I wanted to spend on this. But I bought legal sized paper from Staples and printed it out myself. It took some planning about how it was all going to work out and go together, but I got it! I still need to trim the outside edges and I'm going to laminate the front/back cover and staple it all together. Thank you SO much! You are amazing!!!

Well first let me say

I love your passport books! Now the only question is which layout to go with? I really like the v4 ones you just finished because they have the facts and language bonuses on each page, but the v3 passport pages have the CUTEST characters, I just love how they are dressed up in the cultural outfits in v3.
