Otterbox and I home help????

Hi all, we have a Sony I-home to charge our I-pod. It worked great when we had a plastic cover on our I-pod. We now have an Otterbox to cover the I- pod. When we need to charge the I-pod we have to take it completely out of the Otterbox to charge it. Does anyone have a I-home that you do not need to take everything apart to charge the I-pod? Also, any other help or suggestions is appreciated. TIA

Get an extension cable that will handle audio transfer. They are about $9 on Amazon.com. Then you plug the cable into your iHome and the other end into your Otterbox and just set the Otterboxed ipod on the table beside the iHome. That is how we do it here (same situation). You may need to remove the insert you put onto your iHome to make the cable fit.

Beware of cheaper extensions since most won't allow the audio to transfer. This one does it all (charge, sync, and allow audio to transfer).

We bought this on Saturday at Best Buy and it fits our iPhones even with the Otterboxes on. Companies are finally starting to make these things case compatible, thank goodness!

We have a smaller Phillips dock and it also works. We just took DS's ipod with us to Best Buy and started trying them. It has great sound too.

We had to get an extender for mine too. Kind of a pain but, worth it when you really need a good case.

Thanks I think I will try Best Buy ( will bring I pod with me). As a back up I might order the extension cord.

If your Best Buy is a mess like ours, you can find the one I referenced back with the alarm clocks NOT in the iPod/iPhone accessories section. We had happened to see a box in the accessories section misplaced by an employee so went searching around the store to find it so we could try it with our Otterboxes.

I went to BB yesterday. Just my luck that the store Manager, sales clerk and two of the Geek squad guys were completely clueless. They knew nothing of the Philips iHome or the extender.

I am going to look into Amazon.

weren't there a bunch on display you could try? I believe this is the one DS has. If you read the reviews many people said they could leave the case on.
