I've, sadly, not been coming on this board as my next trip to WDW is a grown-ups only trip. I know, I know...I still feel a bit guilty, but I look at is as a recon trip! DS went twice last year, and we're going in October, so not too guilty.

Guilty enough, though, to start planning his June birthday party.

We're having a Pirate and Princess Party!!

He's turning four, and we're planning to invite his pre-school class (about 20 kids + a few sibs), some family friends and cousins. I estimate about 30 kids total, give or take.

Here are the ideas I already have, but I'd love more!!!

pirate: Two friends of mine are dressing as Captain Jack and a TBD Disney princess (whichever costume can be put together and look the most convincing)
princess: I ordered the pirate ship toy someone posted on the Budget Board for photo ops and am looking for something similar for the princesses
pirate: Each child will receive a personalized treasure bag and get to gather treasure at different game stations (sort of similar to Mickey's P&PP stops)
princess: Coins and gems to decorate the tables
pirate: Found a pirate pinata at Target for $3.24!! I saw the same one at another Target for $12.99!
princess: Found cheap fillers for it at Target, too (jump ropes, lip glosses, mini-books, etc.)
pirate: Half pirate, half princess cake...not sure how I will do this. Whether a picture on a sheet cake or three dimensional cake.
princess: Blow-up pirate ship pool filled with ice and juice boxes

We'll be renting a ballroom-type space as June weather is unpredictable here (could be SWELTERING or raining...or both at the same time), and I'm not too excited about 30 kiddos running around on our light carpet.

Haven't decided on a time. I'm thinking 10-12 or 3-5 so I can bypass most nap times and also not have to try to please everyone as far as a meal. Any cute snack ideas would be great. I'm going to pick up some gold chocolate coins when I'm in WDW next month for sure.

Also, do you think the pinata and game treasures + bag will be enough of a party favor, or would you have something else? I thought pirate hats and tiaras/crowns would be cute (let the kids pick in case we have some girl pirates or prince charmings).

If anyone has great ideas for this theme, I know it's you guys!! Please help!! pirate: princess:

We are doing this theme, too, for my soon to be 5 year old DD. She has talked about it since we celebrated her birthday last year by going to Crystal Palace and the Pirate and Princess Party! She will only have a few boys there so most everything will be princess, but pirate goody bags for the boys. Target has soft swords in the dollar section right now and I picked up several. I am thinking of ordering pirate hats from Oriental Trading.

Ooh! I love the Dollar Spot!!! I'll have to look. Thanks!
