The last few nights we've been getting repeat calls from a local (to us) phone number saying that they're calling to invite us to a complimentary dinner for at our local Olive Garden to go over upcoming changes to the vacation club and to confirm that we got our postcard, which we have not received. I asked if they were asking us to sell our timeshare - because we get a lot of unsolicited mail and phone calls for that- and they said NO, we're already invested in Disney so they weren't trying to buy or sell us anything, they just wanted to go over upcoming changes in the program.
Seemed a little weird to us - they called for both DH and myself, although everything is in DH's name. I asked why we weren't getting calls directly from our rep, and they said they're just the 3rd party facilitating the arrangements.
Anyone else getting these calls or know what this is all about??

DVC does not host these types of local events (either directly or using a third party). The caller most likely lied to you and they will try and get you to sell or purchase another timeshare or travel club program.

That's what I was thinking too. Plus, anytime we get calls from DVC it's from a 407 number. Told them we weren't available.

You can also verify any of these types of calls by contacting MS directly (during normal operating hours).

I own DVC and another timeshare. When I get these calls, they tell me this is about my RCI timeshare. So I ask them what timeshare I own and they give me the name of my other timeshare. When I tell them I love it, the dues aren't a problem and I won't sell it or rent it out, they tell me thanks and hang up.

You're much more patient than me. I cut them off mid-sentence as soon as I hear the word timeshare, tell them to put me on their do-not-call list, and hang up without waiting for a response.

I do not even answer the phone calls when I see a number with a different area code. If it is the same area code, I sometimes answer it depending on my mood. If they want me, they will leave a message..smjj
