Other things besides Main Attractions

We will be headed down to Orlando this summer for a couple of weeks. And done just about everything when it comes to US/WDW, like tours, after hours, parties, ect.
What are some things to do besides the main attractions (WDW/US/Legoland/ECT). We are willing to travel up to 2 hours away and have girls that are preteen/teen. Any good random places to visit that locals might know about? We are up for just about anything....besides skydiving (girls are not old enough). Thank you for any ideas!

I've been looking into other ideas other than the well known ones and came across a couple youtube videos that recommended The Blue Man Group at Universal Studios hotel, I am not sure if you need a park pass to see it, but it might be worth looking into, it looks like a ton of fun, totally preteen/teen friendly.
