What else do you enjoy for a day in orlando? We usually do wdw (2 days), epcot (1 day), animal kingdom (1 day) and either mgm or universal (1 day). Looking for a way to spend another day...we have seaworld here, so won't do that. Other ideas? Waterparks fun?

We visited Blizzard Beach in September - yes, it's lots of fun.
I personally could do the parks every day, from early morning until park closing. However, my DD's (10 & 3) would rather swim at the hotel as much as possible. On future visits, we plan to spend at least one day browsing the area and just doing whatever (putt-putt, tinkering at Marketplace at DTD, swimming, etc.). Track down some of the outlets that carry Disney or Universal merchandise and save a bundle on souvenirs. I would love to spend some time visiting some of the resorts. If you're staying on-site, find out what type of priviledges you may have at the other resorts - a day of swimming in a different pool would be fun. Just have a blast with whatever you do!

I agree with you, I could do the parks from morning to closing, but my husband and daughters like to spend a day swimming or "hanging out". So, I'm trying to work a day of that in. I think we'll skip Blizzard Beach this trip though, we could use a free day and I'm not willing to give up the parks for Blizzard beach :)

I would vote to slow down my pace and spend all my days in the parks but also would enjoy time at Down Town Disney, The board Walk, Some time at Fort Wilderness, resort hopping, minature golf, or if you go off site, those you mentioned as well at the space center, a day at the beach, go down to Bush garderns.
Filling up time has never been a problem for us. We always run out of it!!!!

Jordan's mom

I agree Jordan's Mom! We always seem to run out of time at WDW too!:D On days when we don't go to one of the four parks, we like to go to Blizzard Beach, Downtown Disney, or shop at one of the outlet malls. This year, we hope to check out some of Disney's resorts. We just haven't had time to do that yet..:D

My husband has played golf while my mother and I had the kids on "another" trip through Fantasyland.

Hanging out at the resort - swim - read. Resort hop. Eat at the resorts.

The kids did the Pirate Cruise last trip - while DH and I had a nice brunch at Kona.

Water parks. We've done those a couple times.

The kids were really eyeing watermice - I think that is on the agenda for next trip. And the trip after that we are thinking about booking my son and his Grandpa on a Bay Lake fishing trip. I have a feeling that there is horseback riding in our future as well.

One of our favorites is minature golf. Disney has a great mini-golf course - Fantasia. It may not occupy an entire day but it's very fun. You can also visit downtown disney. Lots to do there and the shopping is great.

If we have any extra days after Disney we enjoy doing IOA at universal. The theming is alot of fun. I am not a rollercoaster fan but still always have lots to do. I don't fine the crowds to be a big as the other theme parks either.

We usually spent our trips to WDW at the parks, but the last trip we tried something different. We are DVC members and stayed at BCV, so we had a room where we could eat more meals in - very convenient. We spent one day at Blizzard Beach - the first time at a water park in 10 visits - and it was a blast. We ended up spending more than half a day there.

We also visited Disney Quest for one day (me and DD's 11 and 13 at the time) while Mom went to the spa - everyone enjoyed their activities and the girls really liked all the things Disney Quest had to offer.

We usually try to visit other resorts while we're at WDW to see the architecture or maybe do the hidden mickey quests (check at the front desk of the resort).

Last year we spent lots of time at the pools.

And we always spend most of a day at Downtown Disney and the Marketplace - shopping and eating and maybe taking in a movie.

Have a great trip!

I know this is quibbling, but it's one of those things that just gets to me ... Epcot, Animal Kingdom and MGM *are* WDW. Walt Disney World is the name of the whole Disney complex, the park with the big castle is called the Magic Kingdom!

As to other things to do, there are the water parks, of course, and shopping, but there are also other things to do in the Orlando area. Two of my favorites are the Science Center (http://www.osc.org/), and the Morse Museum of Art in Winter Park, which has one of the best collections of stained glass in the US (http://www.morsemuseum.org)

notursula....are you sure? I couldn't believe your last post, we're not idiots, we know it's magic kingdom, made a mistake, you knew what I meant. I thought your post was ugly, everyone on this board knows the difference between magic kingdom and disney world.

We love Blizzard Beach.
Our kids are 13, 10, 7, and 3. Kids were one year younger on our visit. Anyway, the oldest took the middle two to the "older kids" area, while my husband and I watched the little one in the "baby area". It was so nice to see a waterpark that was designed for all age groups (even us 30+ year olds), but I wouldn't expect anything less from Disney.
BB is a "must stop" for us.
