I'm looking for other ways to suppliment some income. I currently work full time and I'm trying with little success to sell things I no longer need on eBay but I'm going back to school in May and things are getting very tight, especially since as of now my finical aide hasn't been approved. Does anyone have any suggestions or luck with things they can do at home? Survey sites? Legitimate work from home places? Things like that?

In my area there are a couple of places that pay people for market research. I have taste-tested oatmeal, salad dressings, taco seasoning, and wine coolers, participated in round-table discussions about radio stations, toothpaste, fire-ant killer, and a variety of other stuff.

Pays about $25-35 for each assignment. They look for certain "demographics" age, gender, with or without kids, so some months I might get called ten times, sometimes not at all.

Look in your yellow pages under "marketing" or "market research".

Consider direct selling. There's a wide variety of companies and some of them are pretty flexible; you should be able to find something you fit with.

Hi Guys, I just posted this in the thread above this one about a second Income...

"I am not sure if this will interest you or not, but I know I have had alot of people join my company for tax benefits that you get for owning a home based business which is what I do and have been doing for five years now. I have had alot of success with it also, which has allowed me and my family to make the trips to disney every year for two weeks like we have been. I work from home for a consumer direct marketing company. Now do not worry.. there is no sales involved or no selling products, collecting money from people, delivering products, etc. LOL Go to my personal website that is in my signature line below.. put in your name to request more info. and it will take you to the main page with alot more info. May be for you, it may not, but it can not hurt to take a look. It is great fulltime, part time, or even in your spare time." You can contact me by either email at mickistreeter@iglide.net or visit my website at http://www.abcis123.com

The MICKI STREETER post is the scariest thing I have ever seen on the DIS boards. And I can't say why ???

Excuse me Jamesbyr? May I ask what you mean by that?? That was really kind of rude, and very unlike members of this board!

What's with that James? Didn't I read the topic to be "Other sources of income ideas?" She offered an "other source of income idea" and you jump on her and say it's scary? I think YOUR post is the scary one. Get a clue.

My first visit here tonight and my very first post is to have to defend someone from UTTER RUDENESS!!!!

Thanks for reading, LOL

Hi- I started my Mary Kay business last August and I am having more fun and meeting the nicest women! I really started to make more friends since I stay at home with my 3 kids and I do home daycare during the week.

To say that I am busy is an understatement, but it has been sooooo easy to make money. The starter kit is only $100 and I make 50% on everything I sell and if I ever chose to leave the business, Mary Kay will buy back my inventory for 90% of what I paid for it- talk about security!

I just did my Taxes and having a home based business was incredibly beneficial to us on our returns.

Anyways- just wanted to share this with you. PM if you want more info. I just booked our next trip for 1/4/06 and Mary Kay is paying for the whole trip.

Oh sorry. Just seemed like a poster (with very few posts) with what looked like one of those scams we are always getting on DIS. I reported it to the moderators, I leave it up to their discretion, and will not respond to personal IMs about this.

James,

Plain and simple, I was answering a question that had been posted. How on earth would that be wrong? I did not start putting ads all over the place. For your information I have been on this board for a long time, and just decided recently to start posting and giving my two cents, and helping where I could seeing as we are regulars at Disney World atleast once a year, and sometimes twice. You surely do not know how to make people feel Welcome! You were just down right rude. You should use a little common sense before jumping to conclusions :( I do not like spammers anymore then the next person... and I am on this board and always have been because I LOVE DISNEY!

Well, I don't know if Micki_Streeter's post is "scary" or not, but I do know that posts that promote someone's business or that allow them to gain financially one way or another are not permitted on the DIS. And the same goes for links in ones signature.

Since is it impossible for me to figure out what the ABCis123 website is all about without e-mailing Micki_Steeter, I am hoping that he/she will share with us what it is about so that we can make the determination whether or not it is permitted on the DIS.

Thank you.

Hi Beth,

I will email you in a short while after I get my son of to school. I apologize for any mix up here. I was just truly trying to help Princess Teddy Bears original post where she asked us all for additional ways we may suggest to help with an extra income :confused3

Sorry, but if you have been here a while you would know the TOS and it includes no advertising including in your signature.

BTW is it Watkins or Amway or something like it that you represent? MLM can be lucrative yet often you are your best customer (you end up buying more than your customers), but you all still need to abide by the rules. ;)

In any case, here is a website to help with mystery shopping and merchandising jobs: www.volition.com .

Of course, starting your own business may be good, such as pet sitting or cleaning homes, but it may be a slow start and it may take a while to build clientele.

GL!
