Other sites to book WDW rooms

Expedia? Travelocity? I've checked both, and both have availability at resorts that the WDW website and CRO have listed as sold out. Are there any other sites to book WDW rooms? I didn't see any on Orbitz. Thanks.

Shel...don't depend on that! I only say that because I just tried to book a room at POFQ thru Travelocity that WDW said wasn't available..but Travelocity did.....

Well...I went thru the whole booking..listed my credit card, hit the RESERVE ROOM button and the screen came up saying that there were no availabilities...or something like that! I must have tried it 10 times, using different cards and everything....

Finally I called Travelocity and they told me that many times their screen might show availabilities when first searching, when in fact there are NONE!!

Plus, if you read the fine print on those sites..you will see that Expedia and Travelocity will not charge your card...that Disney will...which leads me to believe that it all goes thru Disney anyway....

Usually with those Travel sites, they charge your card immediately.

But, good luck...I know how frustrating it is.....I finally did get my room thru WDW...they ALWAYS have cancellations!!!

I hope I helped and didn't discourage you...I have gotten so much great help here...and I am very very new to the boards!! :wave2:

NO, that didn't discourage at all! HUGE help! I saw something about it not charging my card, so I was wondering what was up with that. You just saved me a ton of trouble.

I'm just certain that if I call every day we'll get what we're looking for. I've been waffling for months (and I mean MONTHS) on our last two nights' stay, and we're cutting it really close. So I'm just going to keep on calling. If not, we have an alternative.

Thanks SO much for the advice!!!

Shel

We've found AAA to be an excellent source of rooms when none were available via CRO. (Assuming you are an AAA Member)

Also, Dreams Unlimited, Sponsor of the DIS, have been able to be able to access these rooms as well.

Good Luck!

We booked through Travelocity after calling WDW and finding that they were full at POP but Travelocity had rooms. The explaination we were given is that Travelocity buys blocks of rooms from Disney and resells them So Technically Disney has rooms empty, but not available, you have to book them through Travelocity or another agency that resells them.

:flower: You are welcome! It's the first time I actually was able to give some advice here!! I've been greedy by taking it ALL!!!

If you have the time and you are "tinkering" on the computer, you could always try those travel sites (it wouldn't hurt).

Actually...I am a FL resident and I am trying to get my FL rate for the room I have booked at FQ...right now I am being charged FULL price!!! grrrrrrrr!!!!!

So, I am gonna keep calling too! And, we switched our original dates..we apparently were gonna go during Soap Opera weekend (also Veterans weekend)....and the resorts and parks were gonna be CRAZY BUSY!!!!

Whew...glad we switched!!!

I couldn't find a better price or the hotel I wanted on Expedia or Travelocity than my Disney agent found. I'm not a travel agent person at all, but I will only use a Disney Agent to book my rooms for WDW.
