Other places to visit with kids,ages 6 and 9?

We are DVC members (own in WDW) and will be visiting Disneyland in August. We went for the 1st time a few years ago and spent 3 days in DL and then drove up the coast and spent a few days in San Francisco. This time we would like to enjoy the Anaheim/LA area in addition to 3 days in DL. Any suggestions? We arrive on a Saturday around noon (but will feel like 2/3pm since we're coming from NJ) and leaving on a 4:15pm flight the following Saturday, both through LAX. We're looking for ideas for the day we arrive, the 3 days we won't be in DL and the day we leave. Our girls will be 6 and 9 and like theme parks/rides, beach, waterparks, etc. We'll have a rental car.

I heard Knott's Berry Farm is a good option. Is it worth getting the Southern California Pass and go to Sea World and LEGOLAND? Any suggestions/info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Try posting this in the DL (California) board, the Calfornia and the West board, and the Southern California board. You'll get a lot more info. Also, try searching for threads on Day 6 ideas. There are DIS podcasts about things to do and places to go on your non-DLR day/s.
