I typed out a long post, and then Explorer crashed on me...so here goes (a condensed retyping):
of course there is US/IoA. Some great rides, but no WDW.
Sea World and Discovery Cove. Never did the latter, but I hear it's amazing.
Old TOwn - I thought it was kind of dumpy.
Sky Diving - not cheap, but pretty cool. You can buy a DVD of you doing it. I think I have the name wrong - it's like sky diving, but you don't jump out of a plane, you 'fly' in a wind tunnel. It's on I-Drive.
Biggest McD's. - It has an arcade. There are severl McD's inthe area that are kind of unique, and have unique menu items.
Wonder Works - maybe not better than your local kids' sciens museum, but if you've never been to one this make science fun. The giant bubbles and earthquake simulator are great. Ever wante dto lie ona bed of nails? Waht are your odds of winning a lottery? A visual giude to what 1 in a 1,000,000 looks like.
Ripley's - I've only been oto the one in St. Augustine many eyars ago. From what I recall, the original was a bit creepy, but very interesting. Porbaly great for boy especially.
Orchid World - off 192. Free. Not as grand as it sounds, but if you grow orchids or would like to, it's worth a stop. Great prices, usually a good selection of plants and supplies.
Orange World on 192. Looks a bit touristy - like a giant orange, but a great place to stop for real fresh fruit in the winter. Otherwise you coud take a road trip to Indian River to the south and see the groves. They are something to see! It you are headed to South FL, it's worth driving through this area.
