I'm wondering if I'm going overboard with packing over the counter Meds for me, my Spouse and my daughters ages 3 & 6. This is a 10 day trip

For the girls: band/aids, neisporin, Benadryl, Motrin & Tylenol.

For my spouse & I: DayQuil & NyQuil, Motrin, Imodium, sudafed,Bonine,

For everyone: 2 large bottles of sunblock, Hand sanitizer liquid & wipes, Aloe gel for potential sunburn

Also taking a prescription for Zofran, just in case that nasty stomach flu that's going around hits us.

Am I nuts for bringing this many Meds we probably won't need? I just don't want to spend Disney Prices for them if we do need them.

What (if any) otc Meds do you bring for kids and adults?

I might bring cold medicine for the girls. We always seem to get stuff from the plane ride. I also like blister band aids as well as regular band aids.

We have allergies and digestive issues in my house so flonase, allegra, probiotics and a ton of vitamins also make the list.

I usually pack: Children's Advil, adult advil, polysporin, band-aids, benedryl & epi pen (though those two getscarried everywhere we go, so that's not really special for traveling).

However, we always drive and have our car so we could leave and pick up other items if needed.

I always bring OTC meds. Kids Motrin, Tylenol, Benadryl, and Vicks Vapo Rub. Adult Motrin/Pepto/Theraflu liquid and Halls drops. Neosporin, Cortisone cream, band aids, aloe, bug spray, tweezers for splinters. It sounds like a lot but it all fits in a gallon Ziploc. And I always bring a thermometer; I've only ever seen the forehead strips in the gift shops.

It's not even about Disney prices--it's that the gift shops have such a small, hit-or-miss selection. I'm always pretty well-prepared, but at various times I've desperately needed Tums, infant Motrin, tweezers, and bug spray in WDW, and they were nowhere to be found.

Also, I just know what meds work for my son and I, and I don't want to be stuck without them. He'll freak out if I try to get him to take anything but bubble gum flavored medicine; my heart races if I take any cold med besides Theraflu. It's easier to just bring this stuff because I'd never find it on-property if I needed it.

I always bring any that we might need - not huge amounts, just a day's supply.

The only thing we have ever needed was some Icy Hot for my husband. That was the one time I didn't bring any.

I only bring the epi pen and benadryl because DD has a peanut allergy, and my thyroid meds that I have to take each day. All other meds get left at home. We tend to not take a lot of medications unless truly necessary. I hate packing a ton of stuff, and having all those medicine bottles would frustrate me!

Bringing a bunch of bottles isn't necessary - I can get everything into one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Dose-7-day-Stackable-Pill-Reminder/dp/B0092JOKLK

I bring things like cold meds, Tylenol, Motrin, DD's vitamins, and my allergy meds. I don't carry them in the parks though. The one time I didn't bring cold meds, DD ended up catching a bug while there and I had to buy meds at MK. Very expensive meds. As for bandaids and what not, there is first aid in every park and if needed we just utilize that.

I would take all you have plus something cold related for the girls and we take eye drops and saline for noses. I also pack a virus kit as that dreaded virus DID hit us one trip when DS was 5. So not fun. Some things are hard and or expensive to buy onsite and we tend to not leave WDW at all during the trip. One year I forgot the bonine. Three of us take it everyday we are there....OMG....I spent a ton buying it on site. Its on every packing list from now on!!!!

I don't think you're nuts at all. I do tend to bring as small of bottles as possible, but putting them in a zip lock bag hardly takes any room. You know from past experience what your family 'might' need - though, of course, none of us can be completely certain.

Per our Dr. and pharmacists instructions, we usually do not take pills (even OTC) out of their original bottles on trips. In case of emergencies (especially for prescriptions) you need original bottles for doctors, and with OTC, it's very easy to confuse some meds - all are not distinctly labeled individually.

I put a little label on each compartment.

I pack all of what was mentioned in small amounts, labelled in snack sized ziplock bags. I also bring a thermometer, neosporin, melatonin for me and DH, blister supplies (moleskin, blister bandaids, regular bandaids). It also goes into a medium sized tupperware labelled medical. I just stash it in the bathroom sink storage area in our hotel room. Last year, my brother in law didn't bring any meds and I was happy to help him out w/advil and tums when he needed it!

I pack a Ziplock bag of medicine for both kids and adults every trip we take. Top of the list are things we might want in the middle of the night: cold medicines, stomach remedies, pain/fever relievers. Last winter, DD7 picked up a 24-hour bug at MK, and woke up sick at 2:00 am, so we were glad to have our get-well kit in the room. We've all taken cold and headache medicines at one time or anther, too.

We always bring:
-kids/adult Advil
-kids/adult Claritan
-kids/adult Benadryl
-Dramamine
-Bandaids and Neosporin
-kids/adult Pepto Bismal

I pack almost exactly the same items! No it's not overboard and we have used more than a few of them on each trip. We also bring the body glide stick for blister prevention. We have never had one blister yet!

I always bring stomach remedies with me as a matter of importance. Too much Disney food does a number on me. Plus the standard pain relief and sometimes cold relief as I often catch a mild cold.

I'd bring it all. Our first trip we drove and I packed a small pharmacy. Didn't need much. Second trip we flew so I packed much less, and ended up with a sick kid and a very expensive delivery from a local pharmacy. I'll pack a ton next trip just in case.

I always bring that stuff. The times I don't bring it is when I need it. Think of it as a talisman against major maladies. :)

I put my daily prescription meds in one of those small "days of the week" plastic containers rather than bringing the whole bottle. I have a picture of each individual bottle on my phone so I have all of the information if I need it. I bring a small bottle of Motrin and Aleve because those are the pain relievers we use regularly. I also bring Advil Allergy/Sinus since that's the only thing my husband likes to take for allergies. Those are the only things I bring in their original packaging. I'll bring a few "sheets" of blister packs of children's tylenol, ibuprofen, and Benadryl. I photocopy the dosage instructions from the box and staple them to the blister packs. That takes up less space than a box for each med. I also take a few pepto tablets and Immodium AD in snack-size ziploc bags and a few rolls of Tums or Rolaids for my husband. I bring a small ziploc bag with regular and blister band aids. I also pack an anti-itch stick as well as a bottle of roll-on Bio-Freeze. Most of those things still never get used but they are the things that I would want at my fingertips if I needed them at 2:00 a.m.

I used to bring a mini pharmacy (both to Disney World in general and also to the parks) but after 4 trips of never using anything other than the Aleve and Motrin, I significantly cut back what I bring. Unless it's something specific that I know we *will* need during the day, none of it even leaves the room. I can get most basic meds almost any gift shop (and if you don't see it, ask. Some things are kept behind/under the counter.) and band-aids at any first aid station (though I keep one or two in my pocket every day). I don't really care if it's more expensive to buy it in a gift shop, I'll take my chances on needing it. We also drive, so if we need to we can go to Walmart.

I bring it all with me (roughly what you said, though we use kids chewable so because they are easier to pack). I don't bring it all into the park every day though.

However, you can get Meds at first aid in the parks. I went to first aid to find out where to buy Tylenol for my son who had a headache and they just opened the drawer and asked me what I wanted. They gave me a dose of Tylenol which got us through the rest of the night (usually we would have left but it was Star Wars weekend fireworks)!!!!
