I'm signed up for two zombie apocalypse 5k/obstacle races this year. Is anyone else planning to do one of these, or has anyone done one?

I'm a little freaked out about the obstacles. I haven't climbed a rope net since I was a kid. :lmao:

I thought about signing up for one but chicken out b/c of the obstacles. DH is going to do the Boston one in a few weeks. I am going to go and watch so I can see if I can do it next year.

Good luck! It looks like a lot of fun.

Me! I'm doing the Run for your Lives in Clermont, Fl in November. Honestly, I dislike the idea of obstacle courses or mud run-type events... but I really couldn't resist the idea of a zombie run! So, I'll get through it even if it's not a good time just for the fun of experiencing the apocalypse :yay:

DS15 did Boston last weekend. He loved it! Some of the obstacles were hard but not impossible. The only bad thing was the amount of water obstacles but only because they were freezing by the time they were done with the race.

From looking at the videos online, it looks like some of the obstacles are different depending on where they hold the event. But I think you'll be fine!

My whole family is signing up for the Seattle event! Some of us are runners and some are zombies. :thumbsup2

My husband and I were Zombies at the first ever Run for Your Lives in MD. It was AWESOME!! We are already registered as undead for this years event.

It is a lot of fun, and don't worry about the difficulty, there were runners of all skill levels. Also, a lot of people dressed for the event in funny t-shirts or full on costumes, so have fun with it!

Don't be scared.. You can do it. My husband and I did the Boston run for your lives. None of the obstacles were that bad, most people (in my heat anyway) walked between the zombies. The obsticles seemed to have zombies waiting after you finished each one so most people took their time to get across them.
Have fun!

Glad to hear that it's a fun event that's not too difficult. :)

We were really hoping to combine the WA event with our family camping trip but it's not going to happen for us this year.

I'm still thinking about possibly running it with a friend, but don't know for sure yet.

Be a zombie! I don't think they are able to climb ropes either!!! At least not on The Walking Dead, though those are the fastest zombies I've ever seen! :rotfl2: I'd love to go watch, I know they are having one in Denver.
