OT: Your Christmas Tree Decorations

We too have an eclectic tree. Every year at our christmas party, people can participate in bringing a dated ornament in a bag. For those who brought an ornament get to pick from the pile of ornaments that others brought. It's like a grab bag type of deal. It is fun to see the different ornaments one gets through the years. In addition, My FH and I have always had frame ornaments of us to see how we have changed through the years. And I always get an ornament every time we go to Disney. This year I got one personalized for our engagement that happend in Disney this past October.

Memories for us, too! I love picking up an ornament when we travel. Many from Disney, of course, but plenty of other places, too. And then the baby's first Christmas ornaments arrived...twice...and now there are very special creations by those ever-growing babies!

I'm going to start buying christmas ornaments from Disney. Possibly one from every country in World Showcase. I saw some cute ones in Germany last trip. Christmas ornaments do bring back memories, I still have my Sesame Street Ornament Ball from when I was a baby. I'm thinking of buying a small Disney christmas tree next May (the ones they sell in the tube). That looks cute to me and it is a perfect size.

Oh how I LOVE christmas!

Typically we just have the one tree with all the ornaments from trips, gifts, children's etc. This year, we decided we had enough Disney ornaments to theme a whole tree. So we have our tall artificial tree in the living room with all the "regular" ornaments - 1st Christmas, godchild, "other places" etc. Then down in the family room we put a real tree with all Disney ornaments. I had to go online and order a tree topper (and some ornaments on clearance), and it should be here soon. We nearly filled a 6 foot tree!
We have a number of other Disney Christmas decorations that are placed around the family room too. The Christmas village that is not Disney is up by the other tree. I'd like to get the Dept. 56 Mickey village and put it down with the Disney tree, but don't know where??

My girls each have a small tabletop tree in their bedrooms with miniature ornaments, some are Disney, some are not.

Some years back, my theme was "a Black and White Xmas." My small carnivores took it on themselves to decorate the tree with...themselves:

That put and end to the tree really quickly.

Awhile back, I had 2 very lively cats. I had a similar occurrence (when I got home late from a party I had a big mess to clean up including some broken ornaments). After that, I scaled back my tree from 9 ft. to about 5-6 ft. I no longer have pets and once again I can have a big tree. Pets and Christmas trees do not go together! :scared1:
