The private preschool where I teach has an auction every year. My class makes a couple items to auction. This year I have been posting (privately w/permission from all families) some short video clips of their little ones in class. The parents have commented how much they like seeing these glimpses. I am going to add a DVD of all the video clips to auction as well. I tried to "interview" a couple of the kids today. It was interesting and soooo funny!;) I would like to know if others think it would be ok to add the "funnier" clip?

Question? Is your momma a good cook?
(I always brag about what good cooks their mommas are when they send in Holiday/Birthday treats, so I felt this would be safe.)

The very enthusiastic and expressive answer was, "Oh yes! She makes cakes and muffins. She made a cake this tall- taller than the child!:lmao: but then went on to say and when she's done she eats them all up. She doesn't want to share them." :rotfl: Mind you this child's mom is tiny and makes MANY dozens of Christmas cookies that she sends to shelters every year.

So What would you do?:rolleyes1 It is soooo stinkin cute but would any of you (if it was YOUR child) be so embarrassed that you would be upset?

I intend to ask more questions and hopefully I can add a "sweet" response from him too.

I asked another, Why did God make moms? She paused, smiled:cutie: and said, "Because they're so nice!":lovestruc

Personnally, I think it's adorable:rotfl: and would have no problem if someone posted my child saying that about me. However, it has been brought to my attention....mostly by people on the dis :rotfl2::rotfl2: ....that I am not as sensitive to others feelings as I should be :rotfl: Maybe you could tell the Mother about it or show it to her before you post it?? The world seems to be filled with very easily offended people.

I would love something like this too BUT where we live you can not do something like this without express written permission from the parents. At the beginning of the school year parents are asked to sign slips allowing the school to take photographs, video, and media releases (can do one, 2, all or none) and the teachers and PTO have to be very careful about not violating those who do not have permission. For our district it has a lot to do with custody battles, parents working in law enforcement etc, so do not want their childrens names, images, or likeness used publicly or privately in any way shape or form.

All that said, we often get home books made up of things the kids said (using 1st names only), and they are hysterical! Last week we got home "I had a dream" books from preschool, and the kids dreams ranged from "it would be everyone's birthday everyday" to "people wouldn't push" and it was so stinkin' cute to read all of their thoughts. :lovestruc

My question is not about should I do this. I already have written permission to do this from every child in my class. I just wondered about the last bit of his comment. Thanks for your comments!;)

I think I would include it - but I think I would also pull the mom aside and ask to be sure! I can see that some mamas might not find it funny!
