Just booked a Birthday Party at the childrens museum for DD who will be turning three (april)
They are having a Wizard of oz exibit and DD loves Princess' and thinks Dorothy is one of them.
The Party is just days before we return from Disney and Her Actual Bday.
Any thoughts on Favors or Decorations ???

see if Target has their *ruby slipper* shoes and buy them for your dd.
You can probably buy small stuffed Toto type dogs and get a small basket for them.

I also had a wizard of oz party and made the best cake. It was the ruby slippers on the yellow brick road. VERY cut and DD loved it. It was many years ago, but she still talks about that one cake!

When my sister was young and had a Wizard of Oz theme party my mom made a yellow brick road in the house by using a roll of yellow plastic tablecloth. The road went all through the house and there were stations along it, like presents, cake, activities, and finally goodie bags, so for the whole party all the guests had to do was 'follow the yellow brick road'. I don't really remember it, but my family still talks about it! We used the same idea when I was in high school and had a party for the Oscars, only it was a red tablecloth. My friends loved coming in on the 'red carpet' and having their pictures taken!

Def. a yellow brick road! Shindigz.com might sell stuff to go with the theme.

For favors I would do maybe an edible oversized iced cookie wrapped in cello with a tag. You could do a couple of different characters

Fun! We did a WoOz party for my older dd's 6th birthday. You can get WoOz party supplies at Birthday Express.

We had the party at her theatre studio. The girls learned a routine to "The Merry Old Land of Oz" which they performed for the parents at the end of the party. DD was Dorothy for Halloween (Grandma made the costume) so she wore that to the party. Red glitter shoes can usually be found at Target or Gymboree. (Or Ebay!)

I made a yellow brick road, very simply, by laying out a few yellow plastic table cloths as a runner. I lined the runner with green balloons.

I used green table cloths and sprinkled red confetti on the tables, along with the Birthday Express WoOz tableware.

My friend made the cake - check out the picture of Dorothy!

Love this expression!

For her favors, I got paper Toto baskets from Birthday Express and stuffed them with some WoOz stickers from the craft store, green glasses, green madri gras beads, big swirl lollipops, wands, and bubbles (I attached a picture of Glinda.) ;)

Hope this helps! It was one of her best parties for sure. :goodvibes

Thank you everyone...,I'am just so excitied about this party. I have to get most done shortly because we will be in disney the week before.

the yellow brick road is perfect out of yellow plastic tablecloths, and you can usually find those at the Dollar Store or Dollar Tree.

We used blue gingham fabric for table covers, like Dorothy's dress. Wal Mart carries it and it's pretty cheap as well.

For snacks we had bowls of Skittles, rainbow colored Goldfish Crackers, M&Ms, and Starburst candies.

You can find baskets at a dollar store also, and keep checking Target's dollar spot for small stuffed dogs.

It should be a blast! Have fun!
