I was hoping perhaps some of the wonderful DIS'ers can help me come up with some ideas. For those of you that don't know, my dd was diagnosed with a very rare form of ovarian cancer last May. Her Dr. referred us to a wish granting organization and after being disappointed about not being able to go to Australia or New Zealand, she decided that she wanted an enclosed hot tub. Well the volunteers said as long as it wasn't new construction, like an addition on to our house it would be allowed. Well come to find out, the enclosure is not allowed at all. Please don't take it that we are not very gracious for this, but yet it puts us kind of in a predictament. My dd is very disappointed that the enclosure is not included as we live in Northern Ohio so they wouldn't allow her year round use as she wanted. We started pricing enclosures ourselves and are finding that the cheapest screened area that we are looking at is at least almost $1000 and for the enclosed one similiar to what she was thinking we're looking at literally thousands of dollars, like $5000. Well between the medications, dr. bills, trips to the Dr's and hospital (150 miles roundtrip), wear and tear on the car, etc. I just don't know that we will be able to pull off the enclosure. What really put salt in the wound so to speak is they sent us to a website to pick out one of two hot tubs and on the site it shows how this company is involved with this organization and how they gave a wish to another girl that included both the hot tub and the enclosure. Do any of you have ideas how we can create the magic for her within a reasonable amount? I don't know any carpenters and dh is not good with construction. We thought about that.........I'm also trying to see if we can't get any type of sheds that would be more cost effective but allow the proper ventilation. Pulling my hair out here.......
