Anyone else here affected by all the wild fires burning around the US?
We are down in Southern NJ and they hit pretty hard the other day-just 9 miles from our house. Very scary as we have never encountered something like that in all our years. I had our back doors open yesterday afternoon and large chunks of ash (we're talking 1-inch in diameter) were wafting into the house. Lots of folks were evacuated from their homes and given 10 minutes to gather what they could and get out. Last night it rained and I actually thanked God that it did-even prayed for MORE and MORE! Guess somebody was listening because the news said 70% of the fire was now under control and most folks were allowed to go back home-those who had homes to go back to.
I couldn't believe how many areas of the US have the fires going out of control. Hope that no matter where everyone is, they are safe and out of harms way. It was quite a wake up call when suddenly its happening by you.
