We are getting the family a Wii for Christmas this year. We have a DS9 and a DD3. They have played it before at friends houses. Our DD can even play it!! We know they can both play the bowling game but is there any other games out there that the entire family can play?

We love our Wii! And it's so great for family games. We don't have many games yet so I'm looking for good ideas for Christmas too.

We do have Playground, which has some that my 4 yr old daughter can play. Also get Wii Play - it's $50 but it comes with another remote so it's like the game is just $10, and it's well worth that. We also like Smooth Moves - it may be a bit tough for a 3yr old to play, but it's fun and fun to watch.

My 7 yr old daughter also loves Cooking Mama, and the 4 yr old loves to watch it.

Have fun!

Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games is a riot, but exhausting!

Ditto Donkey Kong (and dad and I remeber it from 1st time round!) but you can do this one sitting down!

We also enjoy the platform type games, like Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

But if you're only getting one, get one of the competitive type games like MarioKart, Olypmic Games or Donkey Kong. These are all about 6months - 1 year or more old by now, so you may get some bargains on them, or get used ones a bit cheaper. This is how we buy most of our games, particularly ones my DS9 wants like Pokemon or similar, you find the game geeks buy them, complete them in a week of two, then trade them back into the shops. Of course, because they've possibly only had them a short time, and because they are a bit fanatical about the games, they're always like new condition, and you get them usually about 20% off.

i just picked up "disney think" (i think htats the name of it) its all about disney trivia set to a game show - i think that will be fun for the whole family. i am giving it to my boys for christmas.

I think the name of it is "Think Fast," but don't quote me on that. We just bought it this weekend and have already hidden it away.

Carnival games is alot of fun for the whole family.:)

Carnival Games and Mario Party 8, we play those often as a family. Oh, and Rayman Raving Rabbids (sp?) is a hoot also!

We love Rayman Raving Rabbids 2. Can't wait for 3 to come out next week.:thumbsup2

We got it on the buy 2 get 1 free deal at Target last week. We opened so the kids had something to do over the weekend and during thanksgiving when we're all together at Grandma's. It's fun. Genie asked the questions and the players answered it. Some were questions that everyone could answer and get points, some where only the fastest one got points, some you lost points if you lost, and the final round you could take points from another player (We did 2 players since we only had 2 remotes, but I think it'd be more fun if you had more remotes for more players - just a suggestion, because you can't do the 4 players without 4 remotes).

the questions are read so my first grader could play, but younger than that would be hard (I had my DS - 3 sit by me and tell me the answers).

Hope that answers questions about that game.

Oh, and some of the questions repeated from round to round so I'm not sure how long it would take to answer all the questions.

My kids (almost 7 and 4) and sisters kids (15, 12, 10) all like Wii Fit. There is a fun skiing and hula hoop game. There's lots of balance type games that are fun.

ds-9 and dd-7 . We like to play Smooth moves, ravin Rabbids,Mario Karts and Boom blocks as a family.

Wii Play, Hasbro Family Game Night, Mario Party 8, Carnival Games, Mario Kart, Carnival Mini Golf... both my six year old and four year old enjoy these, along with DH and I. Also we like Game Party, We Ski (a lot more fun if you have the Wii Fit with the balance board) and Dance Dance Revolution (exhausting). I'm definitely looking up some of these games for Christmas! :santa:

Mario and Sonic at the Olympics is lots of fun. I would think a 3 year old could do most, if not all, of the parts of the game. For instance, to run you hold the remotes and move your arms up and down. (Or, if yours is like most little kids, they will actually run in place very quickly while moving their arms up and down. Very cute!)

In our experience the Disney Princess video games are way too hard for younger kids and not much fun anyway.

We have the Wii Sports bundle and the whole family plays! DD's skill level is pretty much all-bowling ;)

My girls love the Wii Fit and Wii Outdoor Challenge. I personally like the Fit because you can practice yoga poses, strengthen your balance skills, do some step aerobics and the hoola hoop is always fun! The latter one uses a mat and the games are easy and very physical. You can get a great workout playing the Challenge game. It allows you to play competitively or cooperatively which can be fun too (2 people play side by side on the mat). There's a skipping, running, trampoline, kayaking, whack a mole, Mine cart riding game (DD6 loves this one!), roller blading, and others. We have finished Barbie Island Princess which had some fun games for the girls too. Mario Kart was a hit too in this household!
