OT: Why do you homeschool?

In reply to DianeV, that question is in NO WAY offensive, one that I have often wondered myself. I agree with what has been posted (homeschooling began as a "religious endeavor", but now homeschoolers are much more diverse).
I am sorry that your daughters feelings were hurt by her friend. A Christian is a follower of Christ. It is a state of heart and not a denomination. If that describes you then you are a Christian. Many people who go to church religiously are not Christians because they follow their own desires rather than doing what Jesus teaches. I hope this helps clarify.

Each of your kids is very, very lucky! I would love to home school my kids. But, I don't think that it is possible with both DH and I having to work fulltime. And my DD seems to have difficulty paying attention to me, but not others, so I am afraid that she would get behind.

I think that a lot of people seem to refer to Protestants as being Christian (at least that's how it seems to me!). I have no idea why, though.

I think it's definitely more accurate the way you described it, Diane (as there being 'sub-sections' of Christianity), and Jesuslover (with Christian's being followers of Christ).
