OT Who's Snowed In? Pics?

They just called off school here for tomorrow so that's 3 days off from work for me:banana:

I am so jealous of those who have lots of snow. Although we have had more snow than previous years this year, it is not nearly what I would like to see. We had freezing rain yesterday and I can do without that, but I love, love, love the snow. I would love to get about 12 + inches. The pictures are beautiful.

:rotfl2: I would love to send it all your way. I don't know when I will ever be able to see my yard again.:sad2:

I know it sounds silly, but I'm kind of jealous. I used to live in Northern Arizona and had my fill of snow then but I miss it sometimes. I loved to walk in it when it was coming down. I certainly don't envy those of you who have to shovel it, though. My sister lives in MA and she's certainly had her fill of it!!

Wow, oh wow!! :thumbsup2 I love looking at these pics!! Thanks for posting them!! Wish we had a lot of snow, just ice here!:)

School called off for tomorrow because of the Artic cold coming down tonight. We live in Northern Illinois, about 90 mins west of Chicago. The weatherman said we got 18.2 inches of the white stuff!

Wow that was Maryland last year! Thankfully it has been pretty quiet on the snow front this year. We did get about 8 inches last week though and that's the most so far this winter (and we'd like to keep it that way!).

Wow, JMKR72 that is a lot of snow. I would love to see that in person. ( but just for a visit, not as a stay. :rotfl2:)

I am in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Unfortunately no snow, just ugly ice.

Last Friday I was wearing a short sleeved shirt, today the current temperature is 11 degrees. Low tonight is to be 8 degrees. No, that is not wind chill, windchill prediction is 8 below. Not something we expect in Texas. We are having power shortages & some people have been without electricity for 2 hrs. They are now saying we may have a gas shortage too. Driving is horrid.

Ugh. I vaugley remember Dallas ice storms. Horrible horrible driving. Luckily, I was under 10 when I lived there. :P

Sadly, I would rather have the snow than the bitter bitter cold temps (-30 with the windchill when I went to bed last night). Might get the snow this weekend though...so I'll take the snow over the cold.

Ironically enough, my son is a "blizzard baby". :P We had a blizzard end of December/beginning of Janurary back in 06/07. So, for those of you getting hit hard by snow right now, I predict a bunch of October/November babies this year. ;)

Central IL here, we didnt really get snow, we mainly got ice and lots of it. Last I heard was we had 1.5inch ice and another 2 inch of sleet with about 2 inches of snow. We went without power for 16 hours, we had no heat so it got down to low 50s in our house. Had down electrial wires in our back yard with trees all over them which also ripped siding off of our house, we had a down phone wire. We have tons of big and small branches on the ground and on our house. Had CIPS come out, an electrician phone company and a HVAC person today to get us all up and going. Luckly everything is working now. Our house is sold and we will be moving in less than 2 weeks, so we now have some repairs we will also have to be making.

Heres a pict of the ice on the bird house just out our front door, I didnt want to walk around yet.

It is really peaceful to be out in it-quiet. We like to snowshoe. There is just so much now there is nowhere to put it! More on Saturday it looks like! Here are a few more pics for those that like them:

Finally loaded my pictures on the computer. As you can see with all the snow my poor Corgi had a hard time moving around in all the white stuff!

PatriciaH---your pictures are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!! :lovestruc Thank you for sharing & I hope everyone can stay warm. We are expecting snow tonight in TX & I'm THRILLED!

North western Pennsylvania here. Quite a mild winter, I don't know what you all are in an uproar about. Most I've seen is maybe 8 inches at once. Even got to see the grass there in early January.

Last year I lost our 80 lb. yellow Lab. She couldn't jump high enough to get through the snow so just dug underneath it. This year, barely any in the yard to even bother with boots on.

I've fired up the snowblower 3 times I think. Anything under 4 inches isn't worth the gas to run the snowblower.

Central PA, near Penn State, saw its fair share of ice on Wednesday.

The ice was hanging from the trees. In fact, part way through the day it toppled a pine tree much like this one. About 15 to 20 feet. Fortunately, no one hurt, nothing damaged - aside from the tree.

It also encased the bushes.

Thank you! The ice ones are amazing too! And I love the Corgi:)

Not this current storm but one last year. This is an OMG-everyone-run-to-the-store-for-milk-and-water snow day for south Georgia. Even the dog was freakin' out.
