Hey everyone. I am so undecided about what to do for my upcoming vacation. I am torn between a cruise/ land or all Disney land vacation. I really need help....everyday I change my mind!

Some background information...my family is myself, DH, DS age 9 1/2 DS age 6 1/2, and DD age 3 1/2. The cruise is the 4 night Dream out of Florida going to their island and Nassau. We have been to Disney 3 times, about once a year. We have never taken a cruise.

My choices are doing the 4 night Cruise and then 3 nights 2 days in Disney. Or doing 8 nights 7 days in Disney. Actually we would probably do one day in Legoland and one day in US also.

Sooo.....I am so torn. In one way it would be nice to do something different...just not sure if a cruise is right for us or not. Some concerns I have are obviously safety, my daughter is clingly, not sure she would go to the kids club, I suffer from seasickness, not sure about the kids, my boys are extremely active, not sure how they would be on a ship, Nassau isnt the greatest island, and not sure if there is enough to do on the ship for us! Please help.....what would you do in our situation??? THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Since you've already been to Disney 3x's I voted for the cruise/land trip. I also suffer from motion sickness but I've never been on a cruise, but I've heard the ship is so big you don't really notice any movement. And since you are ending your trip with WDW even if the cruise is horrible you still get to redeem your trip on land. :thumbsup2

that is a tough one, i personally would go with the 8 days at disneyworld and wait until your youngest can enjoy the kids club more. Disney cruses are alot of money and it would be sad if you couldnt enjoy your time on the boat with your husband because you'd be worried about your 3 year old

We just went on the Disney Magic in November 2011 and honestly, we were not that impressed. We wanted to love it, we really did...but we decided after it was over that we would stick to park vacations.
Our gripes:
- pools are TINY- I mean, there was no swimming involved- you could jump in and cool off, but that was about it.
- food was mediocre at best. We enjoy the park food much more, especially the signature resturants.
-there was not much for adults to do on the sea days, unless you enjoy bingo. No "active' activities. We felt "stuck".
-I have severe motion sickness and I ended up sick for 3 nights, even after taking sea meds. For 2 days I was in a fog from all the medicine.
-My daughter is also very active and she was quite bored in the kids club.

I don't want to discourage you from taking the cruise, but everyone on here always raves about them and how wonderful they are. Just wanted to give you a different opinion.

I would do all land at this "season" in your lives. In another year or so when your youngest is a bit older then try the cruise. You could always try a shorter 3 day cruise with Carnival or Royal Carribean too to see how you like it. I love Disney, but the cruiseline is just so darn expensive!

I voted for sea/land, but after reading what princesspiglet had said....i'd go for disney world.

We've done a DCL cruise (after 6 days in the parks), and honestly, it's not enough time. We enjoyed our 7 night cruise much more. We also didn't feel DCL was worth the much extra $ than some of the other lines (we like NCL).

We are struggling with a similar decision! We booked a cruise for October and fortunately we have until July to cancel but I'm finding myself not feeling very excited. My 3 kids are almost the same ages as yours with my youngest being 3.5. Anyway, I'm thinking we need to wait another year. I think my oldest would enjoy it but I'm afraid the kid clubs would get boring for the other two. Also, doing Disney for just a couple of days is so expensive ticket wise. I'm also concerned because my youngest is having problems holding his BMs. Some days are really rough. Anyway, that could be a real issue in the kids clubs for us given that he might still be in pulls ups.

PrincessPiglet's post confirmed what I'm worried about. Definitely want to do the disney cruise sometime just not sure if this is the best time. If we cancel we'll definitely do our normal Disney week.

Good luck deciding!

If you're interested in cruising, then I would recommend starting with a short, less expensive than Disney cruise to see if you can manage your motion sickness and still have fun.

Cruises are out for us due to DH's severe motion sickness. The motion sickness can be controlled with meds but he requires so much that he is then super drowsy/ foggy and really cannot enjoy himself.

Cruises are just not for us.

I voted for cruise/land combo. The pools were not way impressive. The kids club was not way impressive. My biggest draw to the cruise was the characters were awesome. We went when my daughter was about 3.5 and she was in heaven..... I mean HEAVEN with the character interaction. The evening shows were also AWESOME. When we went they were doing the Hercules show and I still think how good that was. We enjoyed Castaway...very fun. The dining experience was VERY fun also. I am not saying the food was great, but the dining rooms were very fun. There was also a pirate party. At the time I had another daughter age 7 and two boys age 10 and 13. They were not drawn to the fantasy part as much as the little one, but everyone had a good time, and they want to go again (even the older boys). The older boy went on a teen excursion at Castaway. I want to go again.

I voted for all land. I wouldnt want a short cruise or a short land visit. Both would be a waste to me. If I'm going to cruise I want a full week. If I'm going to WDW I want at least a full week.
