DD received her first balloon animal when we were out to dinner tonight! It was a pink dog that she has already managed to untwist the legs on :) . DH and I had no idea how much to tip for it though. :confused3 I figured a buck or two, but DH handed the balloon guy $5. Can any experienced parents be kind enough to let us know what the going rate for balloon animals is?

We usually give $1-2 per child, $5 total if they do magic tricks too. :wizard:

We tip $1.00 per balloon. So if DS7 gets a balloon animal made using 2 balloons, we will tip $2.00.

Having worked as a restuarant manager and having booked them, I know the balloon people get paid strictly on tips; So, we always tip them. What they expect is $1 for something simple & $2 for something complicated--per child. Foe example, if you have two kids and one gets something simple & one something complicated, it's $3.
