I know this is a little off topic but Since the Dining plan is driving many of us nuts what are your favorite offsite "table service type" resturaunts???

Food is never off topice here :lmao: We really love Bahama Breeze ~ the food and drinks there are excellent. There are several locations and a website. Check them out ;)

Yeah we love the bahama breeze in Memphis. Eat there as often as we can.

I do love these forums and get much needed information off of them. My question is why would someone give advice to a restaurant in Memphis. Are they trying to be funny? Could someone please give us some advice as to where is a good place to eat "IN ORLANDO" so we can enjoy our vacation?

I think they are referring to a chain restaurant. They more than likely have locations in both Orlando AND Memphis.

Sorry for getting out of line, that makes a lot more sense to me. I do love these forums and hope to get positive advice to make the trip more pleasant and don't like to hear responses that don't make sense. If it is in Orland I will definately have to try it out.

The crossroads shopping plaza, about 1 mile from DTD has a seafood restuarant called "the crab house". It is great, a little pricey but some really great seafood. This is a must do whenever we're at Disney. It's close enough that you can cab it.

The Crab Shack is NOT in the Crossroads shopping plaza. It is located about a half mile down 535 on the left side next to Chilis and the Macaroni Grill.

535 has many of the popular chains. Just outside of DD is Dennys (yuk!) Burger King and Olive Garden. There is also a Black Angus Steaks. Turn right onto Palm Parkway and there is a Pizza Hut and a Chinese restaurant.
At the corner of Winter Garden-Vineland (aka CR 535) and SR 535 is a 7-11. Right next to the 7-11 is an Orlando Ale House. They have great food, the prices are right and the best wings in town. They also have a kids menu.

Restaurants in the Crossroads are Perkins, McDonalds, Pizzeria UNO, Taco Bell, TGIFridays, Wild Wings, Red Lobster, Marble Stone Creamery (not a restaurant, but ice cream)

Located on 535 to the right as you are leaving downtown Disney- just past the I 4 exit/entrance ramps are Landrys Seafood on the left, next to Lone Star Steakhouse. Across the 535 and a tad further down is a Chik Fil A, Benigans, Wendys,

Try to stay off of I Drive aka International Drive. For restaurants anyways. They will be pretty crowded, plus traffic and parking just for eating is too much bother when you can find it somewhere that is easier to get too. IMO.

If I had the time, I would still brave all these things for Maggianos.

Mmmmmmmm...Rigatoni D...mmmmmm...tiramisuuuuuu. ;)

Actually my favorite close place is Dunkin Donuts....I'll take 20 dozen munchkins if you please, and 86 those lame glazed ones. So maybe that's not really a restaurant, and maybe a mini-donut fetish sounds weird, but since the nearest one to us at home is about 50 miles away, being so close to a DD means a must-stop. :thumbsup2

We ate at Hooters, Red Lobster, Waffle House & We did the Myster Dinner Theater too!! Fun and Yummy!!

Every time we are in Florida, we have to eat at "Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Q".

Since all the pizza at WDW sucks, we like to head to New York Pizza on 535. Good pizza and they have cheese rolls that are heaven.

My family and I have been going to Charley's since I was 9 or 10 and Im 25 now. If we are in Orlando you can bet we are having dinner there. The steak is the best I've ever had. I actully perfer eating there for our nice meal then anywhere at WDW. The other place my family loves is Five Guy's. Now we havn't had it in Orlando but I live down the road from the Orignial in Virginia. Its fast hamburgers/hotdogs but the food is so good and its very inexpensive! http://www.fiveguys.com/

There is a Chevy's in there too the last time we went. My kids really enjoyed that restaurant. Sorry if it's a plain chain... we don't get your restaurants up here :)

We also like Bahama Breeze (several locations), Macaroni Grill (Hwy 192), Giordano's deep dish pizza (yum - also on Hwy 192) and Carrabba's (several locations).

Our new favorite MUST-go restaurant is a buffet at the Gaylord Palms hotel in the Villa de Flora restaurant. So yummy!

We ate at Giordano's in Kissimmee on our trip last month.
The food was good, service ok, but a little noisy. They have TVs tuned to sports -- if I had known I would have vetoed. :sad2:
