Where do you all purchase the kids school uniforms from? I'm looking for good quality and reasonable prices (not necessarily the cheapest)! I'd rather pay more and they last longer. Thanks

Back when my kids were in private school and wore uniforms, I bought lots from ebay. When I had to purchase new, I usually chose Lands' End because the clothes could be counted upon to last.

Hints: If you have a choice, buy colors instead of white shirts. They'll look nice longer. If you have daughters, skirts and jumpers are the least expensive option because they can be worn in summer with sandals or in winter with tights. My girls usually had three season-appropriate outfits at any given time; it worked out fine for us.

When my daughter went to private school, I bought her uniforms at GAP. They lasted much longer than the ones from Kids R Us that I bought her first year. Also, GAP pants have the adjustable waistband.

They usually have really good sales too in about July...last time I bought her some I only paid $12 each for pants and $10 for shirts.

Flynn and O'Hara --- the stuff is practically indestructable. I've also purchased from French Toast, but the Flynn and O'Hara is MUCH better made. I can leave the pants/shorts in the dryer overnight and they're not even wrinkled.

My daughters private school uses Dickies uniforms only. I think they are trying to keep the cost down. This Sept will be the first year of that school so I am going to buy them and then prewash them with a lot of fabric softener to hopefully ease that rough fabric up a little.

In GA there is a place called Buckhead Uniforms, I believe they have a website. I swear three years after purchasing these items, most still look brand new. Of course, they have been grown out of but they were worn almost weekly for almost two years.

Most of the "mandatory" type private schools (those that only allow you to purchase from one vendor) use Buckhead Uniforms.

Old Navy and Lands End! Gap was great too but more pricey than those other 2.

Another Flynn and Ohara here. These clothes are heavy duty and last until kids outgrow, Used one pair of pants for 3 full years with my two boys.

I'm Another Flynn & O'harras person. I will buy the french toast brand walking shorts and a few pair of extra pants & shirts from French toast just to make it through the year. But the bulk of our stuff is from Flynn & O'harras, they are too expensive though. That is why I add some french toast stuff in.

I buy the French Toast brand from Mervyns, you can also order online from their website. I bought some Old Navy pants but they faded quickly.

I know absolutely nothing about school uniforms but wanted to pass along that I found on walmart.com the Faded Glory brand uniforms....I have no idea how they hold up but this info might help someone "fill in the gaps" of buying some higher priced items...I hope.

Old Navy for short sleeved polos and pants/shorts. Lands End for their long sleeved Interlocken polos.

I bought a lot of DD's uniforms at Target at the beginning of the year, but they didn't have much color selection. The white shirts didn't hold up as well as we'd have liked as previously mentioned. I also purchased some shirts from JCPenney and found them to be a bit better quality. The pants from Target have held up quite well.

Both our high school and grammar schools use Flynn and O'Hara exclusively. I really do think they are higher end quality and hold up well even when you are passing them down from child to child.

I buy mine at the local store. The brand that we get is the Tom Sawyer. It holds up really well and is wrinkle free. :thumbsup2

Well I haven't had to buy uniforms yet but my son starts school in the fall and I have been asking around and was told that www.shaheens.net has the best uniforms around here. The pants have the double knees and they are approx $16 and their shirts are $10. My friends had told me that the generic brands wear out much faster and the knees never wear out on these because of the double knee panel in them. I plan to try them in the fall.
