I can't believe it! My husband just came home from buying a television for our guest room and there was and EHF charge on the receipt for $25.00
I asked my DH what that was and he said its the new charge that the government has added for any electronics purchases. Whaaat? When did this happen? Are you kidding me?
So on top of the 13% tax already on the TV, we have to pay a $25 charge just because we want to buy a piece of electronics? :confused3
I am just stunned right now! :sad2:

Amazing! And the government wants us to spend our dollars in Canada? Not if they will continue to take more and more from us!
Wonder if it's provincial or federal?

And that's on your already after tax dollars! Have to love Dalton! NOT....

Friends and I were saying only the other day how little we buy here in Canada anymore. I just bought new family room furniture Stateside too. Too bad...:confused3

How did you get it home? We have been thinking about getting some furniture but thought it might be more trouble than its worth.

I believe we can thank Dalton for that one, but I could be wrong.

Yup, it's just another one of the Taxman's Sneaky Eco-Taxes. Plus to top it off, you pay 13% HST on the $25 Eco-Tax.

It will be gone under an Ontario PC Government.

And as another poster said, it's not just Ontario who has it.

But hey, let's stick it to 'the <blank>man' :rotfl: Feel like I'm in an American campaign with all these slander/labelling-type advertisements. :sad2:

Political discussions (either side of the border, ideology whatever) ... are NOT permitted on the DIS. This thread is closed.
