We are off to a Lacrosse tournament in Mississauga this weekend. Has anyone been to Toronto Premium Outlets recently. Is it worth a trip? I understand they will have a summer sale next weekend are we likely to find any deals?

Any info greatly appreciated.

Last thing I heard, the only down side was trying to get a parking spot... We sometimes go to Vaughan Mills, North of Toronto, usually good deals.

DH and I stopped in there a few months ago for a couple of hours (on our way home from a weekend away- we had to pass right by it). To say we were disappointed was an understatement. We're used to visiting the Premium outlets in the States, and were completely underwhelmed by the selection and the prices at this outlet centre. Perhaps you'll have better luck on your visit.

We were just there this past Saturday. As previous OP said-parking is a serious issue. Go early if you're going. By noon the place is crowded. It's about a third of the size of the Orlando Premium Outlet Mall. Similar stores, Eddie Bauer, Reebok, Coach...they have a Kate Spade and a Hudsons Bay Outlet store.. No real sit down and have a beer restaurant but a decent food court with nice outdoor seating. It all seemed clean and well kept.
We seemed to have managed to spend a few $$$'s. Make sure you go to the info centre inside the food court and get a VIP booklet for extra discounts. There are also some stores (Banana Republic for example) that give an extra 10% off with CAA card.

Thanks for the info. I'm torn now between Vaughn Mills and Premium Outlets. IF we got to Vaughn we will be traveling to our hotel in Mississauga during Friday rush hour. Premium Outlets I can take rural routes to go most of the way to the hotel.

The parking issue scares me as well as we won't be arriving until 2:00ish on Friday.

Will have to give this all some more thought.

Friday afternoon should be ok, I live not too far from the outlet mall and it is USUALLY not too bad during weekdays. I always seem to find a spot to park on the far north east side of the mall. Most people come in off the 401 and go right into the first exit but if you continue to Steeles (first intersection/lights and gas station), turn right and enter the mall from the farthest northern entrance you will see what I mean. I dont think the prices are any better than other malls in general and I have yet to get what I consider a true bargain but it is a lovely place to wander and browse because it is outdoors. I think you would be about 1.5 hours between Vaughn and Mississauga on a Friday rush hour but you can take the 407 toll highway to cut that quite a bit.

Thanks for the info on the commute time. I was afraid it would be something like that. We're not shopping for anything in particular and we'll buy stuff if we're OK with the prices so I guess we'll give the outlet mall a try.

The lacrosse tournament is near the Dixie outlet mall. Is that worth visiting between games?

Dixie Outlet Mall is ok, it really shows its age but there are a few stores in there that make it worthwhile. There is a Marks work Wearhouse outlet that can have some very good off season deals and other true outlets but again, nothing as good as the deals I can get in the States. My favorite thing about this mall is the Laura Secord, they sell chocolate that is about 6 months away from expiry and also in bulk-you can get some "sweet" deals here for sure (lol, sorry, I had to!)

Thanks once again for the info. If I can ever reciprocate when you're up this way let me know.
