OT: Thoughts/prayers please

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of all the people involved. This is so horrible. My DD and I hate going over bridges. We're always nervous going from Philly to New Jersey.

WOW. My friend's niece by chance took a different way yesterday and didn't go over the bridge. My thoughts and prayers are with all who have been touched by this tragedy in one way or another

Had I driven to work yesterday, I could have been on that bridge. Instead I took the bus & our bus doesn't take that route. It's a very surreal & so sad. My aunt was on a paddleboat ride that was in the lock at the St Anthony Falls dam at the time of the collapse. She said they were running about 10 min late, had they departed on time, they would have been out of the lock & most likely run under the bridge when it fell.

It's just amazing how some things just happen....I took the bus, the paddleboat was running late, people took different routes "just because", but there are many others who most likely took that route "just because" as well. It's all very sad.

It is so sad! Another Minnesotan here, it's an awful event. My brother usually takes 35W home between 5:30 and 6:00, thankfully he was out of town for business. My thoughts and prayers are with my fellow Minnesotans and I am so proud of all the rescue workers and citizens who are risking their lives to rescue others. Thanks to everyone on the DIS who are thinking of and praying for our community!!

I checked with my family and they are all safe in Minnesota. Have a friend his daughter's works as a nanny, he was running 5 minutes late, it would have put her on the bridge. but instead sitting in traffic wondering what is going on.
