OT - the term "Queer"

I'm a bit ashamed to admit, I hadn't really thought about the word "queer" in any context until I started reading this thread. I guess it really didn't bother me much. Now rhymes with TAG makes my blood boil.

I guess the phrase that really sends me over the edge is when someone says, "Oh, that is so gay." I'll come flying out of my chair over that one.

I'm a big fan of the 1st Admendment. I'll fight for your right to say just about anything. Just ABOUT anything. You want to make a total donkey of yourself, by all means, go for it. Just use appropriate words.

As a side note, I used the word "retarded" the other week when trying to say our computer system was responding rather slow. "Our response time is retarded." I was about lynched in the conference room. Lesson learned!

That sort of like instead of saying "straight ahead" to use "gaily forward"
