Well, after almost 24 hours with no power, we finally got our electricity back on at 3:45pm today. My poor DH is an electrician and also installs generators, so he has been working for all but 3hrs of the past 34 hours! At least he got a small generator for us so our refrigerator would still be on!

Anyway, I did not keep track of what the heck I ate yesterday and cannot remember today! I know I cheated a bit, had like 6 cheese puffs/curls--but it was direct stress from having no electricity, honest!

Hope all of you in all the states affected are doing okay--of course most of you can't read this right now! Let's hope all our overpaid politicians can get something done ASAP so this won't happen in the middle of winter!

Keep Cool!

We never lost power but the area surrounding our subdivision did :( Including the hospital.

I'm glad your power is back and although the calories etc still count with or without electricity, I'll bet you didn't do badly at all.

Now that your power is back you can start journaling again.

Katholyn--

I am so glad that you didn't lose power, I hope everything is going okay for your Mom and your whole family! The hospitals seem to be the ONLY institution that we can rely on, thank God they have the backup power that they do! I personally think all the nursing homes should have the same requirements!

I really didn't do very bad at all yesterday, considering I had no way to cook and 2 hot and crabby girls! Anyway, I should have done that manual thing---what's that called again...oh yeah WRITING IT DOWN!!!!! But alas, I think I have forgotten what pen and paper look like LOL!

I am really glad to see you back--Kath--we all missed you incredibly!

We just got our power on a couple of minutes ago ... It was really weird not having electricity for anything and it was scary driving through some intersections because there wasn't enough police officers to go around... I've heard that in our area we'll still have rolling blackouts, so we shouldn't expect the power to be on for more than a few hours at a time... I guess we'll see what happens :)

What great news! I am relieved to know that my WISH friends have their power back!! :)

We were out for 26 hrs! It was a long hot night! Today we drove about 2 hrs to get to an area we knew had power(Brighton). We had lunch, did a little shopping and waited over 45 minutes to get gas:rolleyes: The power came on JUST as we arrived home. We knew the power was on at COstco and I wanted to check for the halloween costumes I've been hearing about on other boards so off we went again! (It gave the house time to cool down!) We didn't find the costumes but you should have seen the place. All the coolers were empty or in the process of being emptied. It was terrible to see all that food going to waste.
