Well DD and I spent the Day at the EX!

What A Dissappointment! It has been changing year to year but this year there was so much missing that you actually noticed! A Carny friend even said it was BAD! Usually he points out the "Good Points"! He could not think of any this year!LOL

There were half the rides than two years ago! My fav ride wasn't even there this year! Usually it's there and not working!LOL

More Junk Sellers! Looked more like a Flea Market than an Exhibition!

Oh Well, at least I got to have a Dole Whip!

I think this will be a "Family Tradition" that we will forgoe in the future!

Definately not worth the price of admission!

My DBF and I decided not to go this year ... we felt the same way you did Scratch. Even the lure of Dole Whips and Beaver Tails weren't enough to draw us back this year :p It's too bad really ... I have lots of great memories going as a kid. Oh well.

I haven't gone for the last couple of years either. I found the rides to be extremely bumpy and nauseating and the vendors way too expensive. I find that there are more "bad seeds" there and the atmosphere isn't as fun as it once used to be. I saw more fights the last couple of times I went then on our main bar strip area here in the city (and there are lots there).
I think I spoiled myself when I experienced Disney because the EX just isn't the same anymore - plus, not going gives me the excuse that I have to get down to Disney!

Now I am really glad we didn't waste the money on going there. I thought the ads said this year was going to be better than ever:confused:

I also went in 2002 and 2003 and found 2003 to be very disappointing when compared with the previous year. The flea market atmosphere is exactly what I felt too. The redeeming features were the Canadian navy gun run -- that was great to watch -- and the Food Building. But it's a lot to pay to enjoy a gun run and eat fish & chips and drink a big Coke. I will not be returning anytime soon.

Thanks for the heads-up, Janet.

Lara is being sucked in by the commercials and wanting to go. Glad to know what it's really like. I guess we'll be back at Wonderland next week!

Scratch - I think we'll be heading to the Ex on Labour Day weekend, and since we've basically promised the kids, I think we'll have to make the trip. At least I can get some good food! Are the beaver tails and dole whips in the food building? Or somewhere else on the grounds?

It really has been changing from year to year, hasn't it? I've hated the system with the ride passes, too. Last year they kept on feeding them into the machines and they got stuck or got rejected constantly. Why can't they just use the bracelet type of pass?

The BeaverTails are in the Food Building!

The Dole Whips are outside the Queen Elizabeth Building at the end of where the Skateboarders are where the Gun Run used to be. South/West Side of the Hockey Building.

They use the wrist bands for those that have the "Magic Pass" but for those buying tickets is still that cheap credit card type.

Even with the wristbands they were having problems!

Have Fun!

Thanks, Scratch. AT least we'll be able to suffer the CNE with good food! I'm always struck by how dirty it seems to be, especially compared to WDW.

I could not get over how dirty the bathrooms were so early in the morning!

It used to be that the New building the bathrooms were ok, now ....... YUCK!

Have Fun!

It is so ghetto now!
My husband and I went to see Cirque Du Soleil on Sunday and had to walk through the ex to get there (we were let in for free with the cirque tickets). It was just sad and pathetic looking. My Disney convert husband who once never wanted to go to WDW kept remarking on how Disney would never look like this and when we have kids that we must take them to WDW and then the EX. After that, we would never have to go back to the CNE because the kids would only want to go to WDW. It was nice to hear him gushing about WDW instead of me doing it for a change :)
