OT: The Children's Place sizing?

I need to order a few plain t-shirts for DD to make shirts for our upcoming trip. Can anyone tell me how TCP sizes run? I'm buying her 3T's now, but considering its 100% cotton AND we're going in 4 months, I'm tempted to get a 4T, but I don't want her swimming in it!

Anyone have experience with TCP and the sizing? Thanks!

For DD(4), I think they run a little on the small side. For DS(11), I think they are right on. She can wear a 4 at Gymboree, Flapdoodles, etc -- but has to wear a 5/6 at Children's Place and Lands End.

I think the sizing at Children's place is right on...I would go ahead with the 4T...

That depends. How tall is your DD and how much does she weigh? My DD (28 months) is 23-ish pounds and around 35" tall and can wear 3T shirts and dresses easily since 24 months shirts are too short for her. Pants are another issue, they need folded up.

Do you have a Childrens Place near you to let her try a shirt over her clothes or hold one up to her?

I remember the children's place stuff running just a little on the small size and drawing just a little more than some places so I would go with the 4T.

So funny...I think they run big = equivalent to Baby Gap! (At least, long, since that's our big issue with him.) DS just moved up to a 4T there and Baby Gap, but a 4T is too small already in Old Navy and Circo (Target) brands.

I think TCP stuff runs on the small side. My DD is 2 and can't wear any of their shirts but can wear an 18 months in skirts but it takes a 2T in their pants. My DD has a buddha belly, so all of their shirts are just too tight across the tummy. If your DD doesn't have a flat tummy, I would go up in size. I just think their shirts are cut more narrow than other places.

I noticed that you needed plain t-shirts to make your DD's shirts for your trip, I buy mine at Wal-Mart and I noticed that Target had some nice plain t-shirts as well! Good luck!

Forgot to add that I have noticed that in the boys stuff my son is right on in their sizes. I think that the boys stuff is made bigger and the girls stuff narrower.

I think they run a little small. My DD (4) is kind of small for her age and the 4T fits her well.

Well -- IMHO -- I think Target brand runs super small -- when DD was 18 months, someone got her a 2T outfit from Target -- I had to go all the way to a 4T for it to fit.

I just bought DD a bunch of Clothes fom the childrens place and gymboree and I find the Childrensplace is a little smaller than the gymboree clothes. She is 20 months and she is in 24 months the Childrensplace fits her good and the Gymboree is a little big. My daughter is a big girl she is 95% height and 80% weight if this gives you an idea.

I have found they run on the small side too, at least for my four year old. I bought her one size up for shirts and skirts and the skirts were way too short to let her wear to school.

Looks like we have a mix of opinions! LOL

My DS is on the small side, but I find that TCP pants run on the big side. He is wearing 2T in pants, 3T in shirst, but the pants are always long and big in the waist.

I find that Gymboree is much bigger than TCP. Old Navy tends to be on the smaller side and usually fits him perfectly, as does Baby Gap.

If my kid would just grow some legs, we'd be fine!

Add me to the small column. Whatever DD is wearing elsewhere, she's sure to be a size larger at TCP.

Child's Place definitely runs small (Baby Gap & Old Navy are two sizes too small!). Don't care for Child's Place clothes at all, but have had to return, exchange or give away Child's Place clothes that I have been given as gifts as they are just too small in their sizing. I am a big Gybmoree freak as their clothes are high quality and true to size.

My DD is on the small side for 6. She tends to be bigger on top because of her broad shoulders. I put her in the size 4/5 shirt and can get away with the 4 or sometimes 5 bottom if they have the adjustable waist. I was able to get her into a 36 month skirt for Christmas though and she can still wear it. The only time I had a problem was I got her a 4/5 pull on sweater and it
was outgrown before winter ended.
