Just curious if anyone has one of these beds. I really like the way they look but have not tried one out. Im wondering how much they are and if they are worth it? We have a Select Comfort now and we hate it. Ive never had so many back problems in all my life as well as the company being hard to deal with. We really need a new bed soon and this is one that has sparked our interest.

i LOVE their pillows! If I could afford a mattress, I'd buy one in a heartbeat!

We also have a Select Comfort and we also don't like it. However, we put a 2 inch memory foam topper on it a few years ago, then added a 4-inch memory foam topper about 6 months ago, and it's like a new bed! So comfy now! We bought our 4-inch memory foam topper at Overstock.com for under $200.00 (currently it's $179.99, plus Overstock gives 10 MyPoints per dollar spent). If you are on a budget, you might want to consider this.

Also, DH spent a fair amount of time Googling Tempurpedic beds, and reviews were mixed, plus a few people seemed to indicate the mattresses wear out quickly.

I bought a really, really, really firm bed (no pillowtop - my sister asked if the nails cost extra), and then bought the 3 inch foam topper from Overstock.com for about $130.

It is really great - so comfortable and much cheaper than buying a thermapedic bed. I've had it about 18 months. The ones at Sam's and Bed, Bath & Beyond cost more and don't have the density (very important) of the ones from Overstock.

I have one and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! I got one as a test for free from Temperpedic and I really do feel a difference when I wake up. The commercial is also right that you can set a glass on the other side and it doesn't spill. Anyway they are wonderful!! :cloud9:

Does this go on under the pillow top? Do you have a problem with your pillow top tearing underneath? Thats what ours does at the top by my husbands head it tears away from the backing and then sinks in. Makes for a very uncomfy bed and grumbly DH. They have replaced it like twice now and wont replace again unless we pay 160 bucks.

We laid down on one during last year's County Fair and now we plan on buying the Deluxe. It's the 10 inch thick and for an Eastern King, it'll cost around $2500 (approx). Just waiting for our tax refund now!

 We absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE our tempurpedic bed- have had it for about 3 years now- would never go back to an old "spring" mattress-the ONLY problem is that it is so comfortable I never want to get out of bed in the a.m.-
my husband is 6'4" and has problems w/his back, the mattress has helped him alot- and because of the memory foam you get no "pressure points" so you don't have to spend the night flipping back and forth because your hip is sore from leaning on it!!!
shortly after getting ours, the company came out with their "deluxe" mattress- its thicker- if we were to go out tomorrow and buy a new one, i'd spring for the money for that one-

just an FYI- you know how they state in their advertisements that its guranteed for life? well, not really- in our fine print it states that we'll get some kind of prorate depending on the age of the mattress- and even then, there's lots of ifs and or buts-

but i'd still buy another one!

we bought ours straight from the company- we got the pillows for free along with free shipping-
Brookstone will often run a special where when you buy one from them, they give you a gift card for a couple of hundred-

Our Select Comfort bed was the bottom-of-the-line model (highly recommended by DH's brother and S-I-L-??--), so it doesn't have a pillow top. However, I can't imagine a pillow top being more comfortable than the memory foam, so I would put the memory foam on top of the pillow top.

I just bought a Tempurpedic for Christmas. We got it about two weeks ago and it is heaven. DH always had back problems and no longer has them with the tempurpedic. I got the pillows as well, and I do have to say it was a little tough getting used to the pillows--I think I have finally gotten used to them.

We bartered with the mattress guy and was able to get a great deal. My DH is a huge haggler so it all worked out. We were able to cart everything home in DH's Expedition so that was great as well.

Its wonderful in bed. Everything is much better... I used to have some back issues, but I thought it was due to be "blessed", and the bed has alleviated my small annoying pain.

Our regular size Queen sheets fit the bed just fine and we have no problems. My DH tosses and turns and I dont feel him. He doesn't snore as much either.

I have one of these beds too. My husband has now back pain now. My arms used to fall asleep at night and wake me up tingling, that no longer happens with this bed. I think I love the pillows the most though! It is really different to begin with and you might have to get used to it. I know my husband doesn't like going on vacation now because he doesn't want to leave the bed. Also, it comes with a 20 year warranty with some stipulations of course. We've not had a problem with ours. Very very heavy though.

::::::THUD:::::::: Oh boy, this is about what we paid for our select comfort several years back. I dont know though when you dont sleep well nothing looks expensive. I really want one of these but may have to wait on it as we are about to have siding put on our house which we desperately need. I hate to just ditch the select comfort after paying all that money for it as well. We were supposed to have the warranty too but found out it is prorated as well. I think we might have to try the 4 inch memory foam first and see if it helps rather than put out a big chunk of money like that when we have home improvements going on. Thanks for all the responses, you have all been very helpful.

My DH must be a good haggler. We paid $1300 for a queen matrees, boxspring, frame, pad and two pillows. This was at a Sleepy's store in late December.

I have a 3-in. Sensus foam topper on a very firm mattress and I love it. Anyone who sits or sleeps on my bed (kids, company) raves about it, too. My youngest has called dibs on my bed if I ever upgrade to a king.

I got mine on Ebay. When I do upgrade to a king, I plan to get one of the Sensus mattresses off of ebay. There are many reputable sellers of these products, and at great prices.

We also have a TempurPedic bed and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. We will NEVER do without one again. My husband has cronic back problems (broke it 2x) and I have a bad back and had a lot of hip pain in the mornings when I would get out of bed. Now I never have hip pain in the mornings and no other bed related back pain at all. It was the best purchase that we ever made.

We just bought one last week.

We went to Bob's Discount Furniture (local to the northeast, I think). He sells a "Bob-o-pedic" (no name brand knockoff). Regularly $999 for queen w/ boxspring.

We went to the "pit" where they sell their "damaged" furniture. They had a bob o pedic in there that had dirt on the cover (fell off the truck). We paid $425 W/ tax including the box spring!

We love it!!! :)

With my tax return I am going to buy a new bed. Currently we have a very uncomfortable, broken down queen size and I am looking for a nice, soft kings size bed. Right now I don't care how much the mattress costs, I just want my comfort!!!!!

I made one for our house. I got everything (including box spring and rails) for a total fo $600 for a king. I got the idea off a fatwallet thread. My husband and I love it and our only complaint is that it is so comfortable that the dogs now try to sleep with us every night!

I had a sleep number bed...got it for a wedding gift...HATED IT!!!!!!! It was sooooooo uncomfortable!!!! My MIL got it for us and I felt really bad, but I sold it on Ebay for $770.00, and bought a new bed which is the best bed I have ever bought. Got it at Boscov's and it is a pillow-top, which is the same NASA memory foam as the tempur-pedic. It was $1100 for the mattress and box spring, but I had a coupon, and it was on sale, so I wound up paying $680.00 for the set. That was the best money I have ever spent!!!!

I see Overstock has 3 different 4" toppers, with different density's, I'm assuming the higher density the better, but the 4 lb one is cheaper than the 3 lb one? Does anyone know anything about the density on these toppers, what actually is the density and which one is better? these are the ones they have.
3 lb $199
4 lb $179
5 lb $249
