I need help. We are looking to go to Storyland in NH and CANT find a hotel for under $200! any ideas on something cheaper!

Hi!

I assume you must be going in July or August if you are having trouble finding something under $200? Although I am still surprised!

We just went last weekend and stayed at the Residence Inn - it's brand new and located near the outlets. I would recommend it! I just looked at dates in August - $159-169 for a studio.

Have you also tried the North Conway Grand? We stayed there last year. It's conveniently located at the outlets. They have a nice outdoor pool and a brand new playground. It's older than the Residence Inn but still clean and pretty nice. I believe you can get rates under $200 there too.

Good luck!

we were looking for the 1st weekend in Aug. I looked at the Storyland website and the hotels they suggest are CRAZY in price! I was looking in Glen but now maybe I am thinking I need to look elsewhere!

Go into north conway there is plenty there to choose from. Includeing some chain hotels incase you have saved points. We stayed holiday in that way from my husbands business trips.

We've stayed at the North Conway Grand the last two years. My kids love the hotel. It has a kid sized pool and a movie room at night. It is right next to outlet shopping. There is lots to do in that area.
It is about 10 minutes from storyland. It's clean.

I've been doing a little research on that myself. We're considering a quick get-away up there but now that we're out of June I don't want to pay for the Red Jacket Inn that we stayed at last time. Kids loved it, but I don't think it's worth the summer pricing.

I was considering doing a condo vacation rental. Google Storyland NH vacation rental or North Conway NH vacation rental and you get a bunch.

Here's an example (I have no experience with this particular rental):

We just were there at the beginning of the week. Look at North Conway..Its only 10 min to Storyland. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and it was $139 a night, included a serve yourself breakfast (which was okay actually had eggs but more prefab) the blueberry muffin across the street is better..but I digress... It also had an indoor pool.

There were a few cheaper..Eastern Slope was $99 and looked relatively nice..but I wanted to stick with a chain.

We just got home today from North Conway. We stayed at the North Conway Grand as well, for 3 nites. I believe my rate was $149 a nite... I can't say enough about this hotel. Movies every nite for the kids, ice cream social from 7-8pm, cookies and lemonade in the lobby for the kids, free wi-fi, awesome (clean!) pools, good sized rooms (with free fridge and microwave) (and clean!!) ... I would pay more to stay here. It's so nice and so worth it!!!

eta - they also gave us free kids' breakfast tickets for use I think down in their restaurant, but we never used them (we're not big breakfast people)

We always stay in North Conway at the Quality Suites (or maybe it's a Comfort Suites?) which is attached to the Pirate's Cove Mini Golf. I think we usually pay about $150, the rooms are nice and clean and breakfast is included and there is an indoor pool.

We like to stay at Seasons at Attitash.
They have clean 2 bed condos so we usually eat b-fast and dinner in the room, too.

OP we have stayed at a few places in the white mountains,
all under $200 a night ( we liked them all )

red jacket fox ridge ( in North Conway)
loon mountain village resort ( about 30-40 min from storyland, its on the Lincoln side of the kangamangus)
mountainview grand hotel ( this one is closer to santas village than storyland)

I was actually just checking trip advisor this evening and saw Golden Gables Inn in North Conway, gets a very good rating and the rates are about $120 ish per night:thumbsup2

have fun!

I agree. They also have some specials for $169 per night a few nights in July and August.

they're connected to the Red Jacket Resort and share some services (not the indoor water park but you could pay separate admission for that). Only problem is that they are on the "traffic" side of Conway to Story Land so you'll sit in traffic on your way to the park and way home. Just plan accordingly.

Nordic Village is running a special on rooms with kitchenettes for $99 a night right now. That is my favorite resort and extremely convenient to Story Land. Nights are limited so it may not work with your dates but it's worth a try.

The Grand is reasonable and clean. My kids love it. We stay there during the White Mountain Jump Rope Jamboree and have a blast! Have fun at Storyland. My kids have outgrown it so no more for us.

Back when we were visiting North Conway every summer, we stayed at the Comfort Suites attached to the Pirates Cove mini golf. I can't say enough -- free breakfast, very reasonable rate below $200, nice clean pool, and close to shopping and other eateries. I highly recommend also considering a trip to Santa's village. It's about a 45 minute drive, and well worth it! Cooler, less crowded, and your kids will love the variety of rides and seeing Santa! We prefer it to StoryLand.

The only downside is ds is now too old...otherwise we'd still be going every summer!

We just heard a commercial for the Town and Country. Approximately $200/night for a family of 4 but that includes breakfast AND park tickets. In other words, you end up spending about $50/night on the room itself. It's a bit further away from Storyland (probably half an hour), but you get to miss out on all of the traffic, and that deal really can't be beat.

Attitash Grand Summit usually runs some packages with park tickets as well. Even if you do room only, the rates are pretty reasonable, and you can get a studio with a full kitchen, so you can have meals in your room. This one is probably 15 minutes from Storyland, and away from the traffic.

If you want to stay in North Conway, we've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, but you deal with absurd traffic if you stay in North Conway.

There is a back road that runs behind all the hotels (a real street, with traffic lights, etc.) -- it is a fantastic shortcut which I highly recommend to avoid the crazy traffic, whether you are staying in North Conway or just passing through!

we just went last weekend and used priceline for a hotel, ended up at the Holiday Inn for way less than 200!

I can't believe everyone saying there's traffic... We have NEVER hit traffic going to Storyland. And we go peak season, and at opening time too. So interesting!!!

My friends stayed at the hotel connected to Pirates Cove and said it was gross, the pool and the three different rooms she was in (the first room had the dis's favorite critter - bedbugs! the second room had mold in the bathroom and the third had a musty smell...) Her sister stayed at the Red Jacket that has the water park inside and she loved it.
