Is anyone lucky enough to have a snow day today? I am since of this strike in my city and nobody's gonna plow the roads because they won't get paid for it. I was so happy!

Yep the road looks like it could be a lawn.

Anybody?

haha you serious? must be alot of angry people in your city right about now.

Nope! All our snow is melting now, and the temps outside are in the 50's already. So much for our brief snowstorm! lol So here I am at work.. reading the dis! lol

Well, they all have garbage that needs to be taken out and nobody seems to be picking up the garbage... OH wait! That service is cancelled!

Nobody wants to talk or make a meeting to stop this strike so... hopefully tomorrow will be a snowday.

We havn't had our schools closed in 4 YEARS and also the UOG is closed which is RARE

Congratulations on your day off lol

I know my dd's and ds were thrilled when they got to miss school before hurricane Rita hit (they closed the school the wednesday before it hit to use school busses to evacuate the hurricane katrina evacuees) but the next day the storm turned and we were evacuating- and then she hit dead on- and they got 6 weeks of storm days- fun... it was at first- but they were all so ready to have school it was almost funny I think they wanted to go back more than I wanted them to

We have had a few snow days in my lifetime- you people who normally get snow would laugh- but people down south don't know how to drive on snow/ice and no one owns anything like snow chains or snow tires... so you have to shut down for a 1/4 inch of snow- those are always fun days-

And like your schools in the north have snow days built in should the weather get bad- most of ours have storm days- I know one school I went to everytime we got more than like 2 inches of rain would shut down- silly really but it was plumbing problem or something.

I do hope you enjoy your snow days- but I also hope you city can solve its differences quickly too- after too long- not having food in your house- or the stacks of garbage piling up will not be fun... but for now- sounds like you get to kick back and have fun...

Of course as a mom- I have to ask if you have any sort of projects coming up at school that you could be using some of this time to work on... lol

It is finally starting to get warm here! After the huge snow storm hit we are very glad to see the snow melting. And heck, it is melting so fast we could probably sit and watch it melt! I am so beyond ready for spring! :3dglasses lol.

Sometimes I just hate where I live. Sometimes we get lots of snow, sometime, no most of the time we get no snow or very little. Anyway, I've never seen our snow crews go on strike(all my lifetime, which is... short in comparison with others...). Ours get irritated but never a strike... Oh well, at least you got a snow day... which I really woulda' prefered here...
