I mostly "lurk", even though I am on the boards everyday. Figured I would check here for some friendly advice or a WWYD?
Several years ago(at least 4-5), MIL/FIL purchased a new heater, they since divorced and sold the house to SIL - who also lived there at the time the new heater was installed. Well, apparently there were some issues with this heater - there was some wiring issue, and now something that I do not know about but is going to be $900 to fix. Rather than call the place that installed it, they called another guy they knew who came and did the repairs - thus voiding any warranty b/c another company worked on it. Regardless, the company that made the heater went out of business so they couldn't fulfill the warranty. So now SIL & BIL are furious with the heater company...the problem is my MOM works there. It is a small place, and it has nothing to do with her b/c she didn't work there when all this started. But SIL & BIL can be PITAs when it comes to getting stuff they feel they are entitled too, they can get nasty and bully the wrong people...anyway I told my mom to let her boss handle it that its not worth jeopardizing their friendship over b/c we are all pretty close. Hopefully she isn't too bothered by it, but I hate feeling stuck in the middle.
What makes it worse is they make decent money more than me, DH, mom, MIL,etc. , and SIL was just telling me about the NICE bonuses BIL is getting...god forbid they have to put the money into their house rather than on electronics or their pending trip to WDW (which is a last minute splurge).
