OT- Sick Puppy

Just got some really good news...........Zoe can come home tonight. We will still have to keep her relatively calm for a couple of weeks but it appears she has turned the corner and is on her way to getting well. Thank you so much for your well wishes!!

My thoughts are with your sweet puppy. My rescue dog Jake was sick as a puppy. He fully recovered, and has just hit the ripe old age of 10. I hope and pray Zoe has a similar outcome!

This is great news!!!!

The power of the folks on the Dis Unplugged is strong stuff!

Sending prayers for your sweet girl. So glad to hear she is doing better! Power of prayers from dis'ers is amazing. Our pup was extremely sick a little less than a year ago and I asked for prayers from my dis friends and now Eva is doing a great!
Eva, Bella and I send our prayers to Zoe.

Hey everyone...just thought I would drop in and give a quick update on Zoe since it has been at least a couple of weeks since she got to come home. She is doing great and you would never know she had been as sick as she was, in fact, were meeting some new neighbors over the weekend when one of them asked why she had a bald spot on her leg. I had to explain that it had been shaved for the IV and then relay how sick she had been. She had a checkup at the vet last week and her lungs are completely clear and the vet gave her a clean bill of health! She is back to being a normal puppy......stealing shoes, wanting to play.....etc. Thanks again for all the well wishes......I know they helped!

Glad to hear that Zoe is doing better!

Now... how about some puppy pictures? =)

So glad that Zoe is doing better. I am very happy that you went to the vet school and they gave her fluids. That alone can make a huge difference.

I came late to the disscussion but have a couple of questions.

Did you let the rescue know that she was ill? if so, what was the response? The reason that I ask is I am heavily involved with dogs in our community. I am on the board of three dog non-profits and help with rescue. Did they vaccinate prior to sending her with you? Was she kept there for a few days to evaluate? The other dogs that were at the same rescue need to be evaluated too so that no one else goes through what you went through.

Have fun with Zoe. Once she is on her feet look into some socialization classes with a local dog club. This will be fun for both of you and make the next 10 years together so much better.

Thank you for rescuing this wonderful girl.
