This is OT, but I wanted to share with everyone here. I have spent more time on this board than any other Disboard and am starting to feel like I "know" a few people here. I think most will understand why this touched me so much.
I am a server at a family-type restaurant and we are allowed to wear hats and decorate our shirts. I wear a Sorcerer Mickey hat and my shirt has pictures of my kids with Disney character bodies and it says "The 3 reasons I comer to work..." So I have been nicknamed "Disney". When the hostesses seat me they tell the guests "Your server will be Disney"! So, you get the picture...
Today a woman from a table outside of my section (I was not their server) called me over. She handed me a $20 bill and told me to use it for my next trip! She did not know me. She possibly could have overheard me telling another table of Disney fans that I am going to WDW next month.
I was speechless- which for me is a rarity. I could not believe that someone would be so nice. But, then, I started thinking...
This is a Disney fan. She is like me and many, many others on the Disboards that get it. Pixie dust abounds.
I don't wear the hat for anything like that. I wear the hat because it is who I am. And for the reactions of kids- little and big!
This made my night. It could have been a $1, would not have mattered at all. Why do I love Disney? I can't usually put it into words, but the warm, snuggly feeling I had while working tonight has a lot to do with it.
