Took dd and ds and three more 12 year old boys tonight to see Happy Feet. Beautiful animation...cute story!

I saw it last night too! IMAX was amazing but I was a teensy bit upset that we didn't get to see the new Harry Potter trailer... Oh well, I guess it's gonna be my excuse to see Happy Feet again :)

Rarely do you get to see trailers at an IMAX since the would need to be the correct format. BIG expensive for the movie guys!

Here's hoping the wizard himself shows up in the IMAX like he did last time cause that was an AWESOME way to watch him fly!! :wizard:

My son, 6 just cameback from seeing the movie, and had nothing to say
about it.
I asked my friend who had took him, and she said she was kind of disappointed. I had seen the trailers and thought it would be awesome, but apparently that was not the case.

True, true, lol. I guess I just figured that since the WB was making such a huge deal about the preview before Happy Feet it would have been in IMAX too :guilty: But they did show the Reel thingy (anyone who's shown up to a Cineplex theatre early for a movie knows what I'm talking about lol) before the movie/previews, and that was in standard size. I so would have taken the HP preview looking tiiiiny compared to that screen :rotfl: Now, I'm rambling, so back off to Mugglenet for me :teeth:

K, I'm back already :rotfl: Just wanted to comment on this though. IMHO the movie was pretty off base with the marketing... The previews made it seem like an hour and a half of singing/dancing penguins. Granted, there were scenes with singing/dancing penguins but there was far more the the movie than just those scenes. I personally think that the movie itself was quite a bit more "mature" than those previews suggested it would be. Lots of politics/global warming/etc. that most kids just didn't get or really care about (NOT saying kids don't care about the environment, but when they go to a movie about animated fluffy animals, they probably don't care much about global warming :rotfl: ).

Oh yes it definitely had its questionable moments. The animation is beautiful, the story is cute but lacks substance. I did not think it was very good story wise but the kids liked it.

My husband was going to take our 4 year old daughter, do you think she would like it or would she lose interest?

Our ds is going to be 4 next month and we did not take him. A lot of the humour she wont understand and fortunately she is young enough to not understand some of the stuff she will hear. I would suggest 6-12. They made an attempt to appeal to the older audience and in doing so your kids will hear many references tongue in cheek to mating etc. Just depends if you are ok with that or not. The animation is the best I have ever seen however a 4 year old will lose interest quickly.

I just got back from taking my 4 year old daughter (who normally has quite a good attention span). I enjoyed it but she lost interest about halfway through.

I was wondering about that. The marketing makes it seem like just another stupid kids movie, but the reviews have been pretty good.
