OT: RIP Capt. Phil Harris

For those of us who are big Deadliest Catch fans (my whole family is engrossed); we mourn the loss of Capt. Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie, and pray for his family, friends and crew. Though he seemed to be improving following a stroke, he has passed away. His sons have issued a statement on their website, www.corneliamarie.com.

My husband is currently working on a fishing boat in Alaska. I'm sure they are toasting a toast to Phil in Dutch right now.

we're big fans too.....it was very sad news to hear that he died. I wish all the peace in the world to his family. Captain Phil will truly be missed.

My family also is huge DC fans. Met Sig Hanson in Epcot one time, and have been hooked ever since. My DH is in the Coast Guard, and has MET Phil Harris doing a boarding on his boat. RIP Phil, we'll miss you!!!

My cousin is a winch (sp?) operator in the Coast guard also; I think he used to be stationed in AK, but now he's in Miami.

its very horrible news to hear.. i was very much looking forward to seeing him on the boat again.. what makes it even worse is that he was improving before....it was like a little tease..

Small world, my DH is in Miami, he's at Taclet South. I'm still up here on the space coast, cause I have a decent job, and we bought a house we don't want to sell...so he's doing his last few years as a geo-bachelor!!
