Has anyone done this before? Hubby doesn't want to go back to WDW this summer (nor do I in the summer) since we were jsut there in Oct..... I grew up going ot LBI in NJ and LOVED it. My friends family would rent a house and we would stay for a week. GOnig to the beach, mini golfing, Fantasy Island...some of my best childhood memories. DH HATES the NJ Shore (he is spoiled by the OC MD and OBX). We have good friends who live in OBX and we have stayed with them in the past but last spring the husband was diagnosed with lyrengal cancer, had treatment and was in remission until this week....they now want to trach him (we are heart broken for them)

So OBX is out this year. DH is willing to go to OC MD to rent. I see a lot of condo's which is not what I want (who knows who will be next to you or above you and if they are there to party...we have 3 kids, so we are there as a family vacation).

Has anyone had luck renting a house for a week? Any real estate places that are good to work with?

It would be me, dh, our 2 boys (ages 4 and 5) and our niece who is 13 and maybe one of her friends.

My in-law's have rented condo's without problems at all. Quiet, furnished, etc. They always rent at 9400. I know that didn't answer your question, though.

Just book early (like now) because the good ones go fast. Enjoy your trip!

9400 is a well managed and quite condo unit.. VERY large and right on the beach.. but you have to drive to the boardwalk.
If you don't mind driving to the beach there are WONDERFUL houses to rent in Ocean Pines which is right on the other side of the bay from OC only a 15 min drive to the beach and they do own a private beach in the city with parking and a pool right on the beach for residents and renters - you also have use of the pools over in the developement which includes 1 indoor one.
thye have a yatch club and golf courses..
We have lived there for 21 yrs now and love it...

We rented houses in Ocean Pines when our kids were younger, we loved it! Plenty of room, nice and quiet, we did have to drive to the beach but like the prior poster said, Ocean Pines has their own beachfront parking lot and a pool right there with snack bar, bathrooms :) , etc.

In recent years we have rented an oceanfront condo because the kids were older and could come and go on their own to the beach, etc. We rented in a small building (only four units). We prefer to be far north (I think 136th St) because it's quieter, the beach isn't as crowded because no hi-rises. We drove to the boardwalk but never had a problem getting parking down there.
We used a real estate place called Resort Rentals. No problems.

We love Ocean City Md! We are from NJ, dh is a native of NJ, and we much prefer it to the Jersey Shore.

Just and FYI - if you're staying in north OC you can always catch the bus down to the boardwalk. It is only $1 all day.

There are so many places to rent in OC. We stayed in an oceanfront townhouse at the Ocean Colony. Very nice.

I love going to Golden Sands. It's right on the beach has a outdoor bar you can choose from a studio all the way up to a 3 bdrm I think. I have to find a site from OCMD that gives you a list of all the condos in OCMD. Another nice one that is closer to the boardwalk is castle in the sand. A budget but still nice is man I gotta think.......it's blue.....darn. I will look. It was nice not on the beach (I was also childless at that time so my standards have gone up so maybe it isn't GREAT!

Don't do harrbison hall...

OOOHHH the budget one is sea hawk.

here is a link to a website w/ ALL the OCMD hotels. PM me if you need help.
